FROM THE PRINCIPAL

NEW The tentative start date for the 2020/2021 school year will be August 31st for students in grades 1 through 8. This will be a full day of school.

Reminder We continue to have above normal absences and send more students home each day. I ask you to take this next wave of flu seriously. If your child has not received a flu shot, it is not too late. Please keep your child home if they are experiencing flu-like symptoms in fairness to all students and staff. We will send students with flu symptoms home from school.

Please remember to call the school office if your child is not coming to school.

Although we are experiencing a mild winter there are many students who come to school without jackets. They need the fresh air and exercise, so they will be going outside on those days it is not raining. We are not able to provide indoor supervision for children who are not dressed appropriately.

Thank you for your attention to these matters.

FROM THE SCHOOL OFFICE

NEW  Know someone who is still looking for the perfect PreK or Kindergarten option for their child for the 2020-21 school year? Please invite them to join us on Thursday, March 12th from 10:00-10:45 am. This is a great opportunity for potential students and their caregivers to visit our classrooms and experience a bit of our day here at CCS. More information can be found here.

NEW Please see this attached note regarding upcoming classes for Protecting God's Children, one of the required clearances needed in order to volunteer.

NEW  Second Trimester Report cards will be distributed on Friday, March 20th . This is a gentle reminder that all tuition obligations through the March 15th payment must be met in order to receive or view your student’s report card. Please contact the Parish Center Office if you have any questions.

Date Change Due to a scheduling conflict, Donuts with Dad will now be held on Thursday, April 16th, from 7:30 - 8:30 am. We hope to have the new air conditioning system installed and functioning in time for the event. Please make a note of the date change.

8th GRADE PARENT NEWS

NEW The third and final installment of the Graduation Fee is due on March 2nd.

FROM THE CCS OUTREACH CORNER

NEW During the month of March, our Kindergarten classes will be collecting baby soap and any type of shampoo for Mitzvah Circle.  Mitzvah Circle supports individuals and families experiencing poverty, homelessness, and serious illness. They have indicated that these items are especially needed at this time.

Due Friday Student Council is helping support CYO's March Madness by collecting funds for local families in needs. Students can help by participating in a week of Dress Down Days or Add to Uniform Days. An explanation of each day can be found here. Use this form to order your wristband.

HOME & SCHOOL NEWS

NEW The Home and School Association wants to thank the 180 families that either donated or won an auction item! We have reached $23,000 and will be able to start working on our safety initiative. This could not have been done without all of you! A list of our auction winners can be found here! If you donated (via donations or items won) $150 or $300 your name will be put in a drawing for $599 and $1,199 respectively. Winners will be chosen on Thursday February 27th. Thank you again to all who donated.

SCHOOL NEWS

NEW  Girls on the Run begins next Tuesday, March 3rd. It will run every T/Th from 3:15-4:45 pm. Girls will be dismissed after school to Lobby A where they will meet their coaches. The pick-up location will also be at Lobby A. For the safety of the children, the person authorized to pick-up will need to show ID to the coaches before the child is released. Please remember a note needs to be sent into school every T/Th letting the office know your child will be staying for GOTR.  Please do not mark on that note if there is a change in who is authorized to pick up your child. There is separate paperwork for this which the coaches can provide to you. An email will be sent out by this weekend with a checklist of things to remember to send to school with your child, so they will be prepared for the weekly lessons. Weekly emails will follow with updates/highlights of the program. Any questions/concern please contact Jill Burns at wvujilly@aol.com.

Reminder Keep collecting Box Tops! They are as good as gold for our school!  Don't forget, you can also Download the Box Tops for Education App. After purchasing Box Tops products, scan your receipts and Corpus Christi will earn money. For any traditional paper Box Tops, send them in on the attached collection sheet. Please no expired Box Tops.

Reminder  Due to the closing of A.C. Moore, we are trying to deplete our inventory. The gift cards are being accepted until the stores close. We will give you the full 5% credit of any cards purchased.

Tickets on Sale  Boy Scout Troop 303 and Cub Scout Pack 303 are hosting a Mother/Son Dance for boys in grades PreK - 5 on Saturday, March 28th. Tickets can be purchased using this order form.
