Dear Forum Member

Woking Development Plan - SADPD
The initial planning Inspectors report – “without prejudice for the final report” – was issued on Friday 14th February.
The good news is that no mention is made of either of the two fields in Pyrford.
Clearly though, we must wait for the final report to be absolutely sure they are excluded.
For more details click:
The Inspector does have a number of change recommendations for WBC to consider and respond.  These include a consultation until 9th March on the Annual Housing Management Review (AMR) published on 19 December 2019.  Click https://pyrfordforum.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/WBC-annual-housing-monitoring-report-1819-19-01-19.pdf for full details.  In summary the AMR suggests that the forecast housing supply will exceed the Core Plan targets by 1,394.  However, in reality a lot could change.  The inspector also recommends a clearer policy on when ex Green Belt sites, like West Hall, are released for development.

Pyrford Neighbourhood Forum Renewal
Under the Localism Act 2011, The Pyrford Neighbourhood Forum (PNF) existence is time limited.

The approved Neighbourhood Plan is still valid until 2027, but a representative group for the Pyrford Area needs to be re-designated every 5 years. That time has come, so in the next 6 weeks the Pyrford Forum will approach  Woking Borough Council (WBC) to be re-designated for the same neighbourhood area covered by the current Pyrford Neighbourhood Plan.

The Forum needs to provide a list to WBC of at least twenty-one members who are a representative cross- section of the Pyrford community and some demographic information about our members.  If you are happy to be one of the twenty-one , please let us know by email at  chair@pyrfordforum.org.

Heritage Conservation Assessment (HCA) latest
Forum work on the HCA project continues, as does the fundraising effort.  We have now raised over £11,500 but we still need to raise a further £1,500 to cover the estimated costs. Donations would be most welcome.  Why not purchase a copy of Our Pyrford Heritage - the video PNF has made and showed very successfully at the AGM? A trailer can be found at http://www.pyrfordforum.org, with further details about how to order for £10.00/copy.

West Byfleet Post Office CLOSURE
Unfortunately, it has recently been announced that the West Byfleet Post Office will close on 31st March 2020. Whilst the Post Office is advertising the franchise there is no further news at this time - see the RA web site at https://the-residents.org/2020/02/post-office-closure-in-west-byfleet/ for details.  In addition local councillors have issued a joint statement on Sheer House which can also be found on the RA site at https://the-residents.org/2020/02/sheer-house-development/#more-1308  for a few more details.
