Here are some brief updates on happenings with our Austin Huns RFC, along with a few announcements and well deserved kudos.
Huns Sweep!!
Last Saturday, the Huns scattered all over Texas, from Corpus Christi to Dallas to Ft. Worth, and swept the day with three HUGE wins!
D1 beat the Quins, 53-12
D2 beat Ft. Worth, 15-14
D3 beat Corpus, 71-12
The Club has won nine matches in a row, is 15-6 so far this year, D1 and D3 are already secured for the playoffs, and D2 has three wins in a row and is still in contention for a playoff spot as well.Further, D1 is only four points behind the Blacks for the top spot in the table ahead of our home matches against the Blacks coming up on March 7th.
March 7th @ Nixon Lane - Blacks Rematches
Circle the date on your calendar, get a pass from your wife, secure a day off from your boss and get out to Nixon Lane on March 7th to cheer the boys on. We played all three sides tough at Burr a few weeks back, and D1 and D2 were knocking on the door regarding wins until late. This - is - OUR - weekend! D2 can edge closer to a playoff spot with a win, and D1 still has a shot with a bonus point win of securing the top spot on the table! This Huns season is already one for the ages: let's get out in force at Nixon on March 7th and cheer the boys home!!
Bonus - Austin area Social Members can pick up their Social Polos from Gallas at the pitch during the March 7th matches.
Huns Youth Rugby
Guys, we have 167 kids registered as of last week for Huns Youth Rugby! And, in a special treat, outh Youth Program was featured at half time of the February 22nd Austin Gilgronis match. Very cool! Way to go, Scott Constable and all youth volunteers!
MARCH 28TH - Old Timers Day
Old Timers Day is fun every year, and 2020 will be no different. More info will be coming out soon on this, as the Club plans to play its final regular season games at Nixon AND we celebrate our Old Boys. Please plan to attend.
April 4th - Huns Golf Tournament
It will be here before you know it! The first ever Huns Golf Tournament - a fundraiser for the Club - will be held on April 4th at the Shadow Glen Golf Club. More info on this will be posted and emailed to all players, club members, elders, and business partners soon.
