Unplugged Night at New Hope:

On Friday, March 27th from 5:30-7:30 pm.  This is a night where your family can unplug from technology and enjoy food, fellowship and board/card games with other New Hope families. Please bring a dish to share (last names A-F: side dish, G-M: Main dish, N-R: dessert, and Q-Z: drinks.)  We will eat first and then play board games following the meal. Bring a game to play if you would like, or come and join in other games, which will be set up throughout the fellowship hall.  All are welcome and encouraged to attend! Any questions, please contact Phil Ranker (phil.ranker@gmail.com).

Camino Passports - Get your photo taken for our Camino - journey in Lent. Before and after the services this Sunday. If you have any questions chat with Pastor Ginny.

INVITATION — INVITATION — INVITATION

Every night, literally dozens of homeless women & their children spend the night out on the street in Baltimore.

Baltimore Outreach Services (BOS) — working out of the basement of Christ Lutheran Church Inner Harbor — is one of the very few (and dwindling) emergency shelters for these, our most vulnerable neighbors. BOS operates on a shoestring, and recent changes in the interpretation of federal regulations has further cut the funding. We need you!

Please come join us for the annual gala & fundraiser — dinner, open bar, live music, dancing, silent & live auctions, all for a GREAT CAUSE — on April 18th at the Marriott Camden Yards. Go to baltimoreoutreach.org or contact Diane Batchik for details.

February 27  And March 3| Drop-In Opioid Overdose Response (Narcan) Training at Howard County Health Department

Join in the fight against the opioid epidemic by learning how you can help save someone’s life from an opioid overdose. The first Tuesday and last Thursday of each month, the Health Department offers FREE Opioid Overdose Response Program (Narcan) training between 3:00 and 6:00 p.m., on a drop-in basis, at Health headquarters. Simply show up and Health Department employees will teach you how to administer Narcan, the opioid reversing medicine. The Health Department Headquarters is located at 8930 Stanford Boulevard, Columbia, MD.

Holy Communion Class

For four Sundays during Lent (Mar 8, 15, 22, 29), Deacon Cindy will be teaching the first and second grade Sunday School class about the sacrament of holy communion. If you have a child who is not in the first and second grade who is interested in receiving first communion, or if you have any further questions, please contact Deacon Cindy (cindy@newhopelutheran.org). I look forward to teaching your children!

Lenten Book Group

“The Great Divorce”, by CS Lewis - A group is forming to read/discuss “The Great Divorce” by CS Lewis during Lent. It is a short but thought-provoking book; written as a story, it has nothing to do with marital divorce, but rather the divide between Heaven and Hell. General plans are to gather 2-3 times during Lent to discuss, probably on Friday evenings (Mar. 6, Apr. 3 ... and maybe something in between TBD).  We’re investigating using a Zoom link to allow interactive participation online via video if illness, lack of sitters, schedules, etc., prevents you from joining us in person.  We may start a private Facebook group as well to facilitate communication and posting thoughts/questions/impressions as we read, between actual meetings.  If you are interested, please contact Sondra Ailinger ( ksbh_ailinger@comcast.net) or Susie Jordan.
