Hi Friend,
We have exciting news to share about the METCO Lottery: there are now two more opportunities to enter the METCO Lottery for the 2020-2021 school year!
What Is METCO?
METCO is a school integration program and the largest voluntary school desegregation program of its kind in the country. METCO enrolls Boston students from grades K-10 in participating suburban public schools to reduce racial isolation. Your child can get a great education, make lifelong interracial friendships, and thrive in a global workforce!
Announcing the METCO Winter & Spring Lotteries
If you're interested in METCO as one of your school options for next year, the time to apply for the next METCO Lottery is right now: the deadline for Winter Application Cycle is this Saturday, Feb. 29, 2020. An additional Lottery Application Cycle will take place in the Spring, from April 1-30, 2020.
Apply Online in Minutes: No Documents Needed
You don't need any documents for your Preliminary Application. You only need to submit your child's basic information during the Application Cycles in February and April.
Once you receive your lottery number, you'll have two weeks to upload the following required documents:
- Proof you live in Boston: Documents of residency and occupancy
- Proof you are the student's legal guardian: A parent/guardian photo ID and your student's birth certificate
- Academic records: for the last 2 complete school years
Visit our METCO Resource Guide for more information about the specific required documentation you'll need.
