Welcome to the first issue of the Bountiful City E-Newsletter! This e-newsletter is published twice a month by Bountiful City, Utah and includes the latest news and event information. SAVE THE DATE: SPRING CLEAN-UP
Spring clean-up is April 6-10. During that week on your regular garbage pick-up day, City crews will also remove trash and refuse which has been properly bundled, bagged or boxed.
To assist you with your spring clean-up, the Landfill will not charge Bountiful residents a fee during spring clean-up week or the following week. Proof of residency is required.

WASHINGTON ELEMENTARY INFORMATION
Davis School District has begun tearing down Washington Elementary (located at 340 West 650 South), which was closed last spring. We’ve had a lot of questions about what will happen with the property. Although the School District owns the land and could sell it to be developed as housing, it has given Bountiful City the opportunity to purchase the property first. The potential purchase would require approval from residents.

BRICKYARD BARK PARK UPDATE
Our Parks team needs just a couple more weeks than expected to get all of the new bark mixture in place (they anticipate needing about 180 dump truck loads!). We hope to reopen the dog park the week of March 23rd!

A temporary fence will keep about 1/3 of the park closed, to help the grass and greenery along the fence line recover.
A new bark mixture will be used as ground cover on the remainder of the park to provide a safe and comfortable material for dogs while allowing drainage.

Thank you for your patience as we work to make the park a safe, comfortable and less-muddy place for your pets to play.

CITY HALL RELOCATION INFORMATION
Due to the extensive renovations taking place at City Hall to extend the life of the building and better provide essential services, many City departments have moved to other, temporary locations. Click the link below to see where departments are located currently.

NON-EMERGENCY CONTACT INFORMATION
When you need emergency police, fire or medical assistance, please call 9-1-1. Recently, multiple cell phone carriers experienced problems with their connection to 9-1-1. If your call does not go through or if you do not require immediate assistance, call the Bountiful City Police Department's non-emergency line at 801-298-6000.

TAKE THE UTAH WELLBEING SURVEY
Bountiful is participating in the Utah Wellbeing Project led by Utah State University. Please take a few minutes to provide your feedback before the survey closes on March 13.

UT LEAGUE OF CITIES & TOWNS ESSAY CONTEST
All 4th and 7th grade students are invited to participate in the Utah League of Cities and Towns' essay contest, "Why I Like My Community". The deadline to submit is March 31, 2010.
