GOOD LIFE ORGANICS
Laurel Hall has partnered with a farm to school program so you can get organic produce for your family and raise money for our school at the same time! This is an excellent opportunity to teach our kids how to enjoy fresh, seasonal produce and shop locally, which of course is better for the environment.

The farm to school delivery service will be provided by Good Life Organics and will take place on Wednesdays. The first delivery will begin Wednesday, March 11th. We will set up a table close to the carline area and you can pick up your produce boxes during pick-up.

Boxes start at $17.50 and include family-friendly fruits & veggies along with quick & easy recipes.

Why participate in the farm to school program at Laurel Hall?
  • It's healthy and teaches our children to enjoy organic, seasonal fruits and veggies. Organic foods are healthier and safer for growing bodies and for the environment.
  • It teaches our kids to buy locally which of course is better for the environment. All produce included in the boxes are grown within a few hundred miles from Los Angeles, a great feat considering the average piece of food travels 1600 miles between farm-to-fork. Local food also tastes better!
  • It's convenient (you can avoid a trip to the local farmer's market or cross a few items off your weekly grocery list since items will be delivered to the school).
  • It raises money for the school (5% of the proceeds from every box comes back to our school).
Simply CLICK HERE to sign up. You will be able to choose the box that works best for your family, then scroll to the bottom and choose Laurel Hall as your Delivery location.

Please use coupon code SCHOOL20 to receive 20% off your first box.  If you find that the program does not work for your family, you can cancel at anytime.

Good Life Organics Founder, Samantha Sirota, will be at our next PTO meeting (Wednesday, 2/26 at 8am in Parish Hall) to talk a little bit more about the program and answer any questions. She will also provide fresh fruit for parents to try.

If you have questions or need additional information regarding the program, please contact Ida Villanueva-Heisler. She can be reached at 323.493.3132 or via email at idavillanueva@yahoo.com.
CPK FUNDRAISER
CPK Fundraiser the 1st Wednesday of every month! Upcoming dates:

THANK YOU FROM PASTOR TONY
Thank you, thank you...thank you! The party thrown for us last Sunday was perfect.  It was obvious that a lot of planning and effort went into this and it is much appreciated. The cucina Italiano, the wine, the cards from the children, the special gifts... just the time together, all this made for a very special day.  ELC holds a special place in our hearts and we look forward to continuing our relationship with you.

With much gratitude and love,

Tony and Susan
God's speed..

Join us in the Reception Room to sew/tie/assemble baby/youth quilts Friday, March 6 & Saturday, March 7 from 9am-3pm. Bring your favorite scissors and/or a sewing machine if you can. More importantly, bring yourself and join in the fun and fellowship. No experience necessary! If you can tie a knot, you can help. Questions or for more information, contact Karen Ohrt.

We will be displaying the quilts in the Sanctuary on Sunday, March 8 and March 15. They will be available for a donation of $25.00 which helps us do more. The quilts will make great Easter gifts! 'Birth'-day-or birthday gifts! Or more! Thank you for your support.
EMMANUEL LUTHERAN 75TH ANNIVERSARY:
LOOKING FOR PHOTOS AND SLIDES
Anniversary sub-committees are planning activities and creating budgets for our 75th anniversary. The history sub-committee is already hard at work. Anyone with photos or slides of Midoriland weekends, youth events, choir parties, or any other church, Laurel Hall or ECC function since 1995 can help us by submitting digital copies along with identification of the individuals in the shots. Please send your PDF or JPG to tsbratcher@earthlink.net. If you only have a print or slide, we’d like to borrow it long enough to get it digitized. Thanks!

ELATE will be presenting a staged reading of “Mr. Roberts” in the Parish Hall during July. Be on the lookout for audition notices in the next few months. Contact Jeff Zimmer at senorsock8@netzero.net for more information.

Carol Bratcher is recruiting singers for the anniversary choir to sing at our special worship on Sunday, 9/20/2020, at 10AM. You can reach Carol at carolbratcher@earthlink.net to learn more. As we move into spring, she will be staffing a table on the patio each Sunday where you can sign up as well.

We are happy to hear your suggestions, questions and comments regarding our 75th anniversary. Contact Marshall Bowen (marshallbowen@gmail.com) or Denise Vanzago (dmvanzago@gmail.com), co-chairs of the 75th anniversary planning committee.
ASB WINTER CHARITY
Worthy of Love has been throwing incredible birthday celebrations for children experiencing homelessness in DTLA for over 5 years. When we started our monthly birthday bash there were 15-20 kids (in the only shelter that allows children in Skid Row). Now there are over 250 children staying at the Union Rescue Mission. Our need for support is greater than ever.
We strive to bring hope to homeless children. We believe children deserve to be reminded of their value and potential. We believe by showing them they are worthy of love, they will be motivated to pursue their dreams.
Each and every month since January 2013, the Worthy of Love monthly birthday celebrations have allowed the deprived children living at the Union Rescue Mission a temporary reprieve from the stress associated with not having a place to call home.

EASY WAYS TO HELP LAUREL HALL
EARN MONEY!

Two super easy ways to earn money for Laurel Hall:

1) Ralphs: If you have a Ralphs Rewards card, you can go to Ralphs.com to register your Rewards account and then select Laurel Hall as your Community Program. Linking Laurel Hall to your Rewards card earns money for our school every time you shop at Ralphs. Fun math fact: By spending an average of $400/month at Ralphs, you can earn Laurel Hall around $150/year. If just 100 families enrolled, that’s $15,000! AND...ask your co-workers/family members to enroll too! IMPORTANT: This program requires you to re-enroll every 12-months in order for contributions to continue to go to Laurel Hall School.

2) Amazon Smile: If you log into your Amazon account via www.smile.amazon.com you can select "Emmanuel Lutheran Church-Laurel Hall School" and Amazon will donate money to our school when you make purchases using www.smile.amazon.com.

How easy is that?!
