Newsletter March 2020

Good morning everyone!

This month’s newsletter is just packed with pictures...cool photography ideas...and the usual monthly special!

The latest and greatest comes from a beautiful wedding at a spectacular location...see some of the highlights below!  Even when you are the star of the show, sometimes kids can steal the limelight!!  I just love the edgy picture of a few of them hanging on the railing below!

Sorry...I just had to look up that expression!  Where did it come from? Limelight is a stage expression from 1820's when limelight also known as calcium light was used to light the theatre stage (~www.todayifoundout.com) ...ha!  Who knew!

Events, weddings or if you are a business needing multiple photography sessions over the course of the year, budget can be a problem...large payments all at once.  We offer monthly payment packages that provide our clients with the opportunity to manage their outgoings over a longer period of time!

The Business Spotlight features the Monterey Hyatt Hotel and spa...just a few pictures showing the balcony area, all ready for the party to get started!!

The March special highlights just how perfect this time of year is for pictures!  See the details below and don’t forget to get in touch if you want to take advantage of the offer!

Multiple exposures in camera, tree canopies and tungsten white balance make up the content for the photographer in you this month!  Check out the strange effects below and have a go yourself...you might like the results!

More yellow flowers...daffodils to be exact, are blooming everywhere and you can see a really good display at the gardens in Heather Farm Parks in Walnut Creek, California.  See some of the pictures I took recently from this park below.

Finally...warning... the panoramic passion will want to make you visit Cornwall in the UK...a spectacular location especially in sunshine!

Have a great March.

Cheers,

Latest and Greatest - Monterey Wedding

Is there anything more romantic than lovers on the beach?  Perhaps getting married?  I photographed this gorgeous couple at Lovers Point in Monterey and even the morning fog didn’t take anything away from the beauty of this location, the stunning bride and her adoring husband!  A huge congratulations again and thank you for asking me to capture your special day, I was both thrilled and honored to photograph it for you!

Business Spotlight - Hyatt Regency Hotel and Spa Monterey!

Just a few pictures from the location of the reception outside the ballroom for the Monterey wedding!  Attention to detail is their speciality and everything was perfectly in its place in preparation for wedding guests to celebrate...complete with a setting sun!

From blue skies to green hills and blossoming fields and trees, this really is a spectacular time of year to get some family photos done!  I love to get my boots on and explore the best of the area… come and join me for a spring adventure!

For the Photographer in You -  Tree Canopy, Tungsten and Multiple  Exposures!

Many clever multiple exposure pictures you see are worked on for a lengthy time in Photoshop...they are well organized, planned and edited down to the last detail to display the artist’s vision.  My work always leans more to the documentary style and more of capture what I see approach, but sometimes, it’s fun to play with the creative options!

For the pictures below, the weather was cloudy, using a Tungsten white balance, it gave the pictures a blue tint and I love how the sky is almost completely filled with branches.  The last picture..a little spooky, I captured in camera using the multiple exposure setting and slightly rotating the camera for each exposure (5 of them in total).

Little Ditty About My Own Camera Fun - Heather Farm Park Daffodils

What do you think of when you think spring flowers?  There’s a good chance it’s Daffodils and they are out in full force in the garden at Heather Farm Parks in Walnut Creek!  I brought along my tripod, my water spray ;-) ...a little enjoyment for the flowers and helps along the pictures too!!  Also a bit of organza netting to separate the flowers from other close by objects I didn’t want interfering with the pictures and voila...check out the results below!

Panoramic Passion - Watergate Bay Hotel, Cornwall, UK

Another picture from my UK trip last year...a spectacular hotel with great facilities, and you have to love the location!!  Look closely, yes, that is a surfer out there!
