1. Tax Hike Coming to Spotsy?

The Spotsylvania Board of Supervisors will be meeting tonight and they are considering yet another tax hike. The Free Lance-Star reported on the massive tax hike recently. You can read that article here.

Your Spotstylvania County Republican Committee has launched a petition against the tax hike. Please sign it here and forward it around. I will be emailing the board of supervisors the petitions against the tax hike.

The Board of Supervisors meet the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 4:30 p.m. and the 4th Tuesday of each month at 6:00 p.m. (unless otherwise specified) in the Holbert Building at 9104 Courthouse Road, Spotsylvania, Virginia. If you can make it, please consider attending and speaking out against the tax hike at the 6:00 pm meeting tonight

3. Volunteers Needed to Reelect President Trump

While most of my time is spent working with members of the 7th District Congressional Republican Committee in preparation for the April 25th Convention, the Trump campaign is already working hard in Spotsylvania County.

Dakota Worrell is our regional Field Director in this area. He's leading the efforts for the Trump Victory Committee. If you're interested in volunteering and learning more about what you can do to reelect President Donald Trump, let us know by filling out this volunteer form. Dakota has direct access to this form and will be in touch with you shortly.

You can also contact Dakota Worrell at 816-547-1415 or dworrell@rpv.org.

4. Become A Member of the Spotsylvania Republican Committee

Every two years, the entire Spotsylvania County Republican Committee is reconstituted. This means the conservatives must elect a Chairman and members of the Spotsylvania County Republican Committee to serve a two year term. We will be doing this at the March 28th Mass Meeting.

Becoming a member is easy. All you have to do is fill out the form linked here, submit $40 dues before the March 20th deadline and you'll be eligible to be elected as a member during the March 28th Mass Meeting.

If you want to stop the "Blue Wave" currently crashing down in Northern Virginia and Stafford county from landing down in Spotsy, please apply to become a member right away.

6. Virginia General Assembly Update

I hear this all the time, "My petition or phone call won't make a difference. The Democrats are going to do whatever they want to do."

While session has been tough for most conservatives to stomach, two recent victories have proved that grassroots actions matter.

Two of the Democrat's top legislative agendas have been defeated this year - the "Assault" Weapons Gun Control/Confiscation scheme and the repeal of Virginia's Right-to-Work law.

How were they defeated? Hundreds of thousands of emails, phone calls, and signed petitions to targeted legislators made the difference. In fact, here's several photos of three of your fellow Spotsy GOP committee members dropping off over 63,000 petitions against gun control earlier this year

It can be done. So please, keep the heat up. For more information on the status of several bills in Richmond, please see Republican Delegate Mark Cole's recent legislative update just after crossover

7. National Polling Showing Pelosi Will Be Fired As Speaker?

Here's something that will bring a smile to your face.

A recent National Republican Congressional Committee poll shows Pelosi's failed impeachment scheme combined with Bernie Sander's rise has put the Democratic majority in the U.S. House of Representatives in jeopardy.

If you're interested in geeking out over numbers and data, the polling memo can be found here

8.  7th Congressional District Candidate Forum

The 7th Congressional District Republican candidates seeking the nominee to square off against Abigail Spanberger will be participating in their third forum of the year:

Goochland Tea Party*** 7th District Congressional Candidate Forum
Thursday, March 12th  ~ 7 PM - 9 PM
Goochland High School
3250 River Rd. W
Goochland, VA 23063
More information here

9.  Action Item: Letters to the Editor

One of our committee members, just published a hard-hitting letter to the editor exposing Delegate Levine and the Democrats' plan to abolish the Electoral College. You can read the letter here

I'd like to take this opportunity to encourage the conservatives reading this email to consider submitting a letter to the editor as well. Here's just a few ideas of recent hot topics you can write about:

  • Spotsylvania County assessments and taxes skyrocketing
  • Virginia Democrats in Richmond campaigning on non-partisan redistricting reform (then refusing to bring the bill forward)
  • Governor Northam's tax hikes
  • Bernie Sanders praising Fidel Castro
  • Democrats turning down sheriff's deputy raises over gun control opposition
If you need help writing one, let me know. You can submit a letter to the editor here

As you can see, this spring is busy with elections and general administrative work for us. If you're interested in volunteering to help run a smooth mass meeting or convention, please reply to this email.

Thanks for all you do.

Dustin R. Curtis
