Tiger Store Volunteers

We need lots of volunteers to help Tiger Store happen! Kids earn Tiger bucks throughout the school year. On Tiger Store days, they get to spend their hard earned tiger bucks on prizes! Come help kids pick out their prizes with their Tiger bucks. Feel free to sign up for multiple shifts or days.

Read Across America Week
In cities and towns across the nation, teachers, teenagers, librarians, politicians, actors, athletes, parents, grandparents, and others develop NEA's Read Across America activities to bring reading excitement to children of all ages.











March 6
Literacy Parade

Your child is asked to come to school dressed as their favorite book character on Friday, March 6th and will parade at 9:00 am on the bus pad, weather permitting! Students are welcome to use a book from our Center for Learning & Innovation, the community library, or from home.











March 8
The "R" Word Screening

You are invited to attend a screening of the film "The R-Word," sponsored by Unified Champions: a program through Special Olympics that fosters an inclusive environment through sports and physical education.
When: March 8, 3-4 pm
Where: DSHS Performing Arts Center

Six Flags Read to Succeed

Read to Succeed is a Six Flags program to promote reading for students in grades Kindergarten-Fifth. Students will get free admission to Six Flags Fiesta Texas if they read and participate. Students must read for 6 hours to qualify.

We are excited to announce that our school is participating in the Apex Leadership program again as our major Spring semester fundraiser. Our goal is to foster student leadership habits and raise funds for our school the healthy way!
