As we get ready to say goodbye to winter and welcome warmer weather, BFSC is gearing up for spring and summer activities. Planning for the Chesapeake Open, June 24-27, is in full swing. We are excited about our 25th anniversary event and are looking forward to June. This is our major fundraiser of the year and we need the help of all of our members to make it a success. Volunteers are needed for hospitality, ice monitoring, running, awards, setup and breakdown. Members volunteering at least 8 hours (per family) will receive a credit (up to $100) toward membership, ice time or a test session; renewal is required prior to the event. We hope that many of our members will want to compete! In addition to the usual events in freestyle, showcase, and solo and partner dance at No-Test through Senior levels, we are also offering a Basic Skills and Beyond competition. COVID-19 Update
Our thoughts and prayers are with all of those affected by COVID-19. We hope that the outbreak will soon be contained and daily lives can resume. As of now, Mt. Pleasant will be closed from March 16 through March 27. We plan to resume club ice on March 29. Club ice at Ice World is still on as usual. We will keep everyone posted as the situation evolves.

Membership Renewals Due
Your membership in BFSC and USFS will expire on June 30. You must renew your membership in order to be able to test and compete after that date. Please submit renewal form and payment to Judy Carrig ASAP. Membership packets are available on our website at: https://baltimorefigureskatingclub.com/?page_id=12

Presenting the BFSC Junior Board!
Last fall, BFSC formed the Junior Board to provide young skaters with the opportunity to develop skills that go beyond the rink and become active youth leaders of the club. The Junior Board hosts monthly meetings to plan seminars, promotional events, club spirit weeks and so much more! Members also volunteer at test sessions, competitions, and seminars (which are great opportunities to earn service-learning hours for school). The Junior Board teaches its members responsibility, leadership and cooperation while fostering friendships between its members.

BFSC is seeking nominations for board members for the next 2-year term, through June 2022. Board members meet monthly and work together to help make BFSC the great club that it is.
