The 2020 Census counts every person living in the 50 states, District of Columbia, and five U.S. territories. Data from the Census helps shape federal funding of programs that are utilized every day, such as insurance programs, food stamps, foster care and more.
What you can do...
Make sure to respond to your 2020 U.S. Census. Completing the census takes about 10 minutes and can be done online or over the phone, in addition to mailing it back.
Be sure to count babies, even if they are still in the hospital on April 1, 2020.
Make sure that everyone who lives and sleeps in your home is counted, even if these living arrangements are temporary or someone is only there part of the time.
Remember, Census data is confidential and cannot be shared!
