Prayer and Fasting
Today // Prayer at Church 6 p.m.
During our season of seeking a Lead Pastor, we're setting aside one day per month for prayer and fasting. Fasting could include abstaining from food for all or part of the day or determining something else to refrain from. From 6 to 7 p.m. on Friday evening we will gather together at the church for a brief prayer time. If you have any questions about the search process, please feel free to talk with David Taylor (enginerd.david@gmail.com) or Eileen O’Gorman (eogorman@ncfstl.org), who are serving as co-chairs of the Pastoral Search Committee.

This Sunday, February 23, at New City South

We will have a special joint evening worship service with Covenant and their pastor, Chris Smith, with give the sermon on John 17, Jesus’ High Priestly Prayer. We will not have a separate children's program, but we will have activity bags for children.

Dinner will be at 5 p.m. and we will serve food from The Vine, a local Mediterranean Restaurant. If you are able to bring a few dollars to chip in to help cover the cost of dinner, that will be helpful...but if you are not able, please come regardless!

Ash Wednesday Service
Wednesday, February 26 // 7:30 a.m.

Ash Wednesday begins the season of Lent, which is the 40 days leading up to Easter. Over history, Lent has been a time of repentance, as we prepare to observe Good Friday and finally, celebrate Easter. Ash Wednesday helps us remember our mortality and sadness for our sins. We will will have a brief (30 minute) Ash Wednesday service at church in the morning.

Daily Lent Readings
Pick up a copy of The Radical Reconciler book in Front Hall at Church

This year we have several copies of a book of daily readings for Lent that you can take home to support your own journey through this season. The Radical Reconciler is written to help you engage daily with the deep, transforming truths of the gospel and be reminded of the heart of Christian faith. If you would like to give a suggested donation of $5 to $10 to cover the cost of the book, you can place that in the black box in the front hall by the stack of books. If you are not able to make a donation, or need to wait until another week to donate, please take a book regardless.

Reading Psalm 121 Together During Lent
Each worship service during Lent (starting on March 1) will begin with a verse from Psalm 121, a Psalm that the Israelites sang together as they walked toward Jerusalem. Pick up a copy of Psalm 121 in the front hall at church, stick it in your Bible, on your refrigerator or your car’s dashboard, and consider God’s Word through these verses.

When the people saw the sign that he had done, they said, “This is indeed the Prophet who is to come into the world!”
Perceiving then that they were about to come and take him by force to make him king, Jesus withdrew again to the mountain by himself. John 6:14&15
