Pushing Boundaries:
An Endurance Coaching Journal for Time-Crunched Professionals

“If you don't challenge yourself, you don't know yourself." - David Goggins

I hope you've set big goals for yourself this year. I know I have, and I gotta admit, it feels dark sometimes. Can I get over this mountain? Is my plate unrealistically full? Do I have what it takes? I don't know the answer to any of these questions, but not knowing can be paralyzing. Don't let the unknowns control you. Take action. No. Matter. What. Here's a toast to embracing the suck and getting through it.

Hope this week's stories provide a dose of inspiration. Thank you for subscribing and reading. I truly appreciate it.

Learn to LOVE the CLIMB
No matter what your A-race is this season, if it involves a bike, hills are where it's at! This is a GREAT workout to do all season long and is one of the few high intensity sessions that make sense in off-season or early-season training. Learning to climb efficiently will develop
  • Strength - quads, glutes, calves, hamstrings, core - ALL OF IT!!
  • Muscular endurance, which means you'll be stronger for longer
  • Lactate threshold, enabling your body to push harder efforts
  • Mitochondria production, which basically are responsible for your ultra-human strength and endurance
