Howdy,

It's the most beautiful time of the year. We finally got a little bit of snow and the skiing is decent, so I'm going to keep this short and sweet.

Sweet, says I? What a segue.

Sugaring season is upon us, as next week promises highs in the 40s and lows in the 20s, which means I'm washing out our buckets, charging up the drill, and looking into the woods with new eyes.

If you've got sugar maples of your own, it's wicked easy to make your own syrup, even if you only tap a few.

Here's everything you need in our post on backyard sugaring:

GET SUGARING
(Also, if you're wondering what to wear when you're out there with taps and buckets and etc., this pocket-laden LL Bean field coat is the answer. Equally cool in Brooklyn.)

And for one final treat, we found this video of a pretty sweet van setup for some off-grid living inspiration.

OK then, get in touch and go get at it.
