Reaching a £1 million milestone
Since our very first share offer back in 2015, BHESCo's amazing shareholders have invested over £1 million in sustainable energy projects around Brighton and Hove and beyond. This remarkable level of support has helped us to complete 50 community owned energy projects which collectively reduce carbon emissions by 375 tonnes a year - enough to offset more than 400 flights from London to New York. EVENT: Green Architecture Day 2020
Green Architecture Day is an annual get together of illustrated talks run by Brighton Permaculture Trust and Low Carbon Trust. Since 2002, the event has attracted over 2,000 participants to hear inspiring talks about how we can build, work and live in greener, healthier buildings and communities. PROJECT: Hertford Infants and Nursery
Over half term week BHESCo partnered with EcoSphere to install a 156 panel, 48.4kW solar power system at Hertford Infants and Nursery using funds raised from our latest share offer.
Over the next 20 years we expect the solar panels to reduce energy costs for the school by £103,600 as well as reducing their environmental impact by 278 tonnes of carbon - enough to offset 715,000 miles driven by car.
SHARE OFFER UPDATE: £500,000 target raised (plus a little extra!)
In October 2019 BHESCo teamed up with online investing platform Ethex to help us raise £500k for eight new low carbon energy projects. We're delighted to have exceeded our funding goal by £100,000 and have now completed work on all the projects included in the share offer. We expect these projects to collectively reduce carbon emissions by 2,141 tonnes over their lifetime in addition to saving our customers £452,000 on fuel bills.

In recognition of Earth Day 2020, and in partnership with Brighton Energy Co-op and Octopus Energy, BHESCo is hosting a big event featuring live music, a specially commissioned short film and speakers from many pioneering local sustainable businesses.
