Get ready to close out the old club

A special curling event and party are being planned to officially close out the old club as we get ready to move on to the new location next season. Patti Henning and Emily Weiss are leading the charge to create a fun, season-ending party and curling competition that you won't want to miss. Stay tuned for more updates!

The Stevens Point High School curling teams recently competed in the State High School Championship. The girls team finished third while the boys team was fourth.

Stevens Point was well represented (above) at the 2020 Wisconsin High School State Championship with two teams reaching the semifinals in Wausau.

Girls medalists included (top, l-r) Coach Patti Henning, Erin Jore, Lydia Miller, Lexie Durkee, Maggie Lawrynk, and Emily Rubenzer. Boys medalists (above, left) Liam O'Keefe, Majo Yang, Aiden Peryam, Allan Ollech, and Tyler Portzen. The high school curling team collected $2,320 to support the club's fundraising efforts for the new curling facility and presented it to their coaches (above, right). A huge thank you to all who contributed!

An open house to recruit new athletes for next year's high school curling teams had a great turnout. Thanks to all who helped organize!

Club members win bonspiels

Congratulations to the Matt Davis, Casey Konopacky and Lori Kawleski rinks on their recent bonspiel championship titles! Davis and teammates Doug Anderson, Scott Koth and Matt Weiss won the 40-team Wausau Men's Bonspiel on Feb. 9. That same weekend, Konopacky and his teammates Ash Nelson (Centerville), Joel Nernberger (Kettle Moraine), and Mike Gorichs (Duluth) captured the Running Tree Maple Syrup Bonspiel title in Medford. In addition, Lori Kawleski led her mother-daughter team to the Stevens Point Women's Bonspiel title. Lori's team included Megan Henning (bottom, front row, l-r), Susan Kawleski, and Patti Henning. Congrats to all!

A reminder to all to turn in your reverse raffle tickets! You can put the tickets and money in an envelope and drop into the black box at the club or be handed off to Jack Edgerton. Thank you!

A corporate event for another group from Sentry Insurance took place at the club earlier this month. These events would not be possible without great volunteers like all of you!
