ADIS2020 Summary and Next Steps

Dear Friends,

In the month following the fifth annual African Diaspora Investment Symposium #ADIS2020, I am humbled by the outreach, support, and generous words of our participants, speakers, sponsors, and partners.

The feedback we have received tell us that our vision and mission of bringing together Africans, Diasporans, and friends of Africa resonates with communities across the globe. I am personally thankful to all those who helped make the symposium informative and engaging. We give special recognition to the 2020 Builders of Africa's Future and all of the African entrepreneurs who joined us at the symposium.

The African Diaspora Network is ready to work with you to turn some of the ideas discussed at the symposium into action. Meanwhile, I encourage you to be a part of the following engagement opportunities:
  • Take the ADN Scientific Survey: Participate in a study crafted by lead researchers that will be formative to the ADN five-year strategic plan. The survey will be released in early March 2020.
  • ADN Five-Year Strategic Plan: ADN will develop a strategic plan based on your feedback. Stay tuned for updates!
  • 2020 African Diaspora Impact and Innovation Speakers Series: Join the network and engage in one of our regional convenings across the U.S. Be on the lookout for the 2020 dates.
  • ADN partners with the Miller Center for Entrepreneurship at Santa Clara University: We will continue to provide support for the Builders of Africa’s Future cohort.
  • ADIS21 Builders of Africa's Future Nominations: ADN will open nominations for the 2021 BAF cohort in the coming months. Details to be announced.
  • Save the Date! #ADIS21: Mark your calendars - next year’s symposium will take place from January 20-22, 2021 at the Computer History Museum in Mountain View, Silicon Valley, USA
As always, thank you and I look forward to working with you.

Thank you,

Almaz Negash

International Women's Day Celebration

African Diaspora Network is delighted to sponsor the 2020 Women of Color Conference, taking place on Saturday, March 7. We invite you to join us as we gather in celebration and recognition of International Women's Day.

Event Information:

The One Degree of Separation Synergy Services (ODOS) Entrepreneur Conference empowers diverse women of color to succeed as entrepreneurs.

In this global economy, women of color entrepreneurs need to build and prepare their businesses to be competitive locally and on a larger stage. Many of our underserved entrepreneur communities are not obtaining vital information and resources.

ODOS hosts its second annual Women of Color Conference in East Palo Alto California. We will explore and hear expert speakers and panel discussions designed to propel female entrepreneurs to the next level in this global paradigm shift.

Almaz Negash, Founder of African Diaspora Network, will be a speaker at the event. Join us to celebrate International Women's Day!
