Imagine waking up to an overflow of sewer water coming out of your bathrooms, to the point where the apartment becomes completely flooded. That was the plight of the Meneses family this past fall. In the process, they lost almost everything, and had no place to go.
"God has a plan, even though we cannot see it," Mom told us.
The family found new housing and as a working family, just needed some key items to help them along. HOPE delivered two beds and dressers, end tables, and linens.
It is heartening to see a family take a difficult situation and make the best of it. As they told us, "We lost a lot, but gained a lot of faith along the way!"

Thank you to the wonderful people who attended our recent All Star meeting for HOPE. We took a tour, discussed the program, and brainstormed many ways that our All Stars can support HOPE in helping the community. It was a great session! We look forward to sharing with you some of the things that Rita, Michele, Leon, Stephanie, Mindy, Hope, Robin, and (the other) Stephanie do to serve our neighbors!

During Lent, we are collecting kitchen utensils for our clients. These items are well-used in the kitchen, and we hope to collect enough to be able to fulfill the needs for many months. During your Lenten journey this year, please consider participating in this donation.

On the last Saturday of each month, an excited, motivated, and eager-to-serve group of people visits HOPE For All. They are the team from Severn Covenant Church, and volunteering at HOPE is part of their Serve Saturdays outreach. Since September, 10 or more church members come to our warehouse to show love and compassion to the community.
"They're awesome," said Operations Manager Jeanne Huber, "...and willing to do whatever is needed. It's a great group!"
The group divides up to work in clothing, linens, housewares, or on the delivery truck. They always combine having fun together while giving back. Teams are also going out during the week and spending time with the families who are referred to us to find out their needs.
Here are a few of the comments from the volunteers:
"I don't see how you could say no to serving like this."—Steve from the Delivery Team
"Knowing that someone would be using the silverware, made sorting and bagging it impactful."—Warehouse Team Member
"The level of commitment from the Hope for All staff was convicting." Warehouse Team Member
"Sorting and bagging clothes so that people would have quality items makes people feel valued."—Warehouse Team Member
"We may not have made a huge difference, but less people will be sleeping on the floor tonight."—Delivery Team Member
Severn Covenant Church has committed to becoming an official partner with HOPE For All, and we are thrilled to welcome them as a supporting church partner. We look forward to a long relationship of serving God with Severn Covenant.

Washcloths
We are hoping to re-stock our washcloth inventory because in late February, we were down to having none left. If you are out shopping and can pick up a few for us, please help us build back up our supply. Thank you!

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
We have begun the Lenten journey. We have the opportunity to walk with the Lord for 40 days. The number 40 is very significant. It rained for 40 days on the ark, Moses and the Israelites wandered in the desert for 40 years, Jesus was tempted by the devil in the desert for 40 days, and Jesus spent 40 days with the Apostles after his resurrection.
Jesus is calling us to be fishers of men and women through his mission HOPE. He wants us to be initiators to serve those he brings to us no matter their race, creed, color, nationality.
He wants us to be life changers to those we encounter, giving them hope, peace, prayer, and our sacrifices.
He wants us to be persistent in all we do even if it means going the extra mile.
God Bless each of you on this journey to Easter. May he open your hearts, minds, and souls. Leo
