Rabbi’s Message
Rosh Chodesh sameach! For the month of Adar, Rabbi Ruhi Sophia challenges us to seek out holiness in the unlikeliest of places and to think about how we can empathize and give to those whose needs we have the power to meet.
Purim is a time for coming together, celebrating, and generosity. Dress up in your favorite costume, come have some fun, and turn your Mitzvah money into support for climate justice. Bouncy house, pizza lunch, play games, make hamantaschen, crafts, gather Mitzvah money, fill your Mitzvah Passport, enter the raffle. Tickets for activities: 50 cents each, with most activities between 1 and 4 tickets. Pizza lunch $4.

Saturday, March 7, 9:30am
Audrey Fitzpatrick will become a Bat Mitzvah! She is a happy, energetic, creative girl who enjoys ariel silks, swimming, rock climbing and other active pastimes. Writing fictional stories is another of her favorites. She has been studying hard and is excited for this event.
Masechet Berachot Siyum
Saturday, March 7, 5:30pm
Around the world, Jews read the entire Talmud one page at a time, on a set schedule called Daf Yomi (literally “a page a day”). Many people in the TBI community are doing this, too. It takes 7 ½ years to go through the entire Talmud, and the current cycle began January 5th. Berachot is the very first of the Talmud’s 37 tractates. We’ll celebrate the siyum (completion) with a group study session, a vegetarian potluck meal, and then Havdalah. You're welcome to attend whether you have been studying or not, for what will be a joyful and educational evening.
In order for us to have a potluck, we need help with set up and clean up.
Monday, March 9, 6:30pm (shpiel), 7:30pm (Megilah reading in English)
This year’s Purimshpiel (play) is a musical retelling of the Book of Esther featuring some of your favorite songs from Disney movies, like Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King, Frozen, and more! Costumes are encouraged!!
The Megilah will be read in Hebrew at TBI on Tuesday, March 10, 5:00pm, with a vegetarian potluck following.
