FAQs about serving as a Lowell PTSA Executive Board Member:

1) Who can serve?  Men, women, parents, grandparents, teachers, students, staff and members of the community who are current Lowell PTSA members in good standing ($12 Annual Dues) can serve as an officer or board member.

Good candidates are PTSA members who have a willingness to…
Learn about PTSA’s purposes and policies and follow them
Attend monthly meetings and fulfill the duties of the position
Reflect and embrace the diversity of our school community
Participate in leadership training programs

2) What is required financially of a PTSA officer?

The only financial requirement is that all officers are required to be active Lowell PTSA members.  Annual dues are $12 per person and a person who would like to be considered for an officer position must be a current PTSA member at least 30 days prior to the election (March 19th Deadline).
What about training costs? In-person and online training workshops are available at no cost.
What about purchasing items needed for activities of the office?  Officers are not expected to incur any out-of-pocket expenses because they follow the approved PTSA budget and work within budgeted allocations.

3) Who is eligible to vote? The privilege of voting is limited to members of the association who are present, whose dues are paid, and who have been members of the association for at least 30 days prior to the election.   There is still time to join the Lowell PTSA to either become an active leader and/or vote for your new leadership team.

We encourage you to consider joining the Lowell PTSA. Help mold and guide the diverse, equitable and inclusive community that we want Lowell to embody. Be the change you want to see!

Deadline to nominate (yourself or others) is Friday, March 13, 2020.
