Mount Dennis TOWN HALL Wednesday, February 26th
The ecoNeighbourhood Climate Action Project presents its first event! More events funded by Toronto Strong Neighbourhood/ Toronto Live Green grants will be taking place over the next few months. Did you know that the CIty approved only 15 grants, and two went to projects presented by residents of Mount Dennis?
Wednesday, February 26 - Town Hall on programs and opportunities provided by three levels of government.
At LEF Industry Street, doors open 6:30 pm. This is your opportunity to learn about government programs applicable to you, your home, your business, and the organizations that support Mount Dennis.
Next month, the ecoNeighbourhood summit, a two-day event takes place.
- March 27 - Registration, Reception, and Showcase of current initiatives in York South -- Weston
- March 28 - All day conference to develop a community response based on previous two events, plus missed opportunities identified at the conference.
We are currently looking for presenters, facilitators, and volunteers for the March events.
Dennis Avenue School Meeting Tuesday 25th
The Toronto District School Boardhas announced it intends to build a new Dennis Avenue school. During construction, classes are expected to be held at the building now used for Rockcliffe Middle School, which school is also under review. Dennis students may be housed at the Rockcliffe site during construction. From the Councillors newsletter (edited)
Community Consultation: New Dennis Avenue Community School
An application has been submitted to rebuild Dennis Avenue Community School. Councilor Nunziata is inviting residents to attend a meeting where representatives from the Toronto District School Board will present preliminary plans for the new school. You are encouraged to come and share your thoughts and ask any questions you might have about the project. The meeting will be held from
6:30-8:30 PM in the gymnasium of Dennis Avenue Community School (
17 Dennis Avenue).

Sat. March 7th: POTLUCK PROGRESSIVE EUCHRE in our club room. Registration at 1 pm. Entry fee $7. Potluck finger food donations would be appreciated. Play (10 games) begins @ 1:30 pm. Cash prizes. Cash bar. All 19+ are welcome!
Sat. March 14th: IRISH PUB NIGHT DINNER & DANCE in our hall.
Irish dancers, followed by Irish dinner with dessert and then live music performed by the Doctor Bruce Lee Band.
Tickets ($25 for branch members & $30 for non-members) must be prepurchased in the club room by March 11th.
Cocktails (Cash Bar) @ 6 pm. Dancers @ 6:30 pm. Dinner @ 7 pm. live music @ 8:30 pm with dancing till Midnight.
Come out & be Irish for a night! All 19+ years are welcome.
Wed. March 18th: CASINO RAMA DAY TRIP Board the bus in the legion parking lot for an 8:30 am departure. Your ticket includes transportation to & from the casino and a $10 credit on your Rama Players card. Cards are available for first timers upon arrival @ the casino. Please remember to bring government issue photo id.
Tickets ($5) must be purchased in advance at the club room bar. All 19+ years are welcome. Bus is limited to 55 persons.
Fri. March 20th: KARAOKE! in our club room with host KJ Peter DeBruin from 8 pm till 1 am. Cash Bar. All 19+ years are welcome!
