APOST Summer Conference RFP
Share your expertise with Pittsburgh's youth workers! Submit a proposal to present at APOST's Summer Conference for Out-of-School Time on Friday, June 19, 2020.
Our bi-annual professional development conference offers youth practitioners connections, strategies and learning opportunities needed to provide quality out-of-school time experiences and strengthen youth/adult relationships. The 2020 conference will begin with a networking breakfast at 8:00AM and a keynote address at 8:30AM.
This year, we're looking for workshops on Social Emotional Learning, Community Trauma/Trauma Informed Care, Panel Discussion on Important Topics in OST, Health and Wellness, Creating Inclusive Spaces, and Innovative Practices for Youth Workers. Deadline for submissions is Friday, April 10th.

APOST PD
We have so many great opportunities coming your way for professional development this month and beyond! On Friday February 28th at 10AM, learn how spending time outdoors can support physical and mental wellness with Pittsburgh Parks Rx at Nurturing Connection to Nature for Health and Wellness. Then, if you missed out on (re)designing Space(s) due to the snow or another engagement, you've got another chance to participate on Friday March 6th at 10AM. Grants
Jefferson County Mini-Grants: support for 2020 Census outreach activities focused on historically undercounted and hard-to-count populations and communities. Deadline: February 28th
Nonprofit Security: support for security enhancements to protect the safety and security of the users of a facility. Deadline: February 14th
RML Ignite Grants: 5K for network members as they imagine something new, build on their strengths, or re-energize their existing learning innovations. Deadline: March 13th
Teacher as Researcher Grant: up to 5K teachers who conduct research inquiries in their classrooms. Deadline: March 15th
Expanding Disability Inclusion and Access: funding for organizations to become more fully inclusive of individuals with disabilities. Deadline: April 1st
PA Food Recovery: Grants up to 200K for shelters, food banks, nonprofit food management. Deadline: April 24th.
Staunton Farm Foundation: capacity building grants and support for 1 year. Deadline: March 31st
Governor's STEM: $500 grants to students grades 9-12 competing in STEM. Deadline: May 7-8, 2020

Stanford History
Stanford History Education Group provides history lessons and assessments that teach students to use primary sources and explore historical inquiry. Free online lessons cover topics such as digital literacy, civic reasoning, and information literacy skills. Grades 6 and up.

You Decide
Two PPS and Allegheny SD certified school counselors will present A Counseling Approach to Bullying Intervention on Saturday, February 22nd from 9-11:30AM at Carlow's AJ Palumbo Hall of Science. Join other like-minded providers who care about youth to learn about techniques to prevent bullying. This will be an interactive workshop appropriate for parents as well as grandparents, in addition to educators and out-of-school providers.
