Wednesday, February 19 - World Chess Hall of Fame - Crafts & Cocktails: Soft Sculptures with Alexa Clavijo 6:30 - 8p - Join Alexa Clavijo for an evening of crafting abstract soft sculptures! Inspired by the exhibition Michael Drummond: Being Played, participants will find innovative ways to use fabric to make one of a kind works of art. Clavijo will cover the basics of cutting and sewing reclaimed textiles to create sculptural pieces.

Friday, February 21 - Third Fridays at MADE Makerspace! 6-10pm,  "Wood You Be Mine" More info here. Come to MADE's Open House and make some sawdust with us! This month's Third Friday Open House is all about wood, woodworking, and selling handmade wooden wares. We will have members showing off how to use different machines in the wood shop, with opportunities for hands-on use of the machines! There will be two different food vendors and drinks available for purchase. This event is family friendly!

Saturday, February 22 - Bowood Farms - Fleur De Lis Watercoloring - Learn how to create a loose and unique watercolor painting of a Fleur de Lis with the guidance of artist Amy Woods. Explore watercolors by focusing on mixing color and seeing how water and paint interact without the pressure of drawing. Amy will show you how to blend colors to expand your palette as well as brush techniques to create different textures. This class is open to all levels of experience. All materials will be provided, and you’ll go home with your own palette and paintbrush. Price: $60. Taught by: Amy Woods. Workshop is limited to 12 people. Tuesday, February 25 - CWE Fat Tuesday Celebration - Let the good times roll at the second annual Central West End Fat Tuesday Celebration. We’re bringing the sounds of New Orleans to the #CWEscene! On Tuesday, February 25, join in the Central West End Second Line Parade, led by Saint Boogie Brass Band and Annie and the Fur Trappers. Meet at the intersection of Euclid and Washington at 5:30 p.m. After parading through the neighborhood, continue the festivities at one of the CWE's amazing restaurants or bars. Check back for a list of participating businesses and specials. Grab your friends and family and celebrate Fat Tuesday in style, right here in the Central West End. Prizes will be awarded for “Best Dressed” during the event.
Tuesday, February 25 - Adam Smith at Left Bank Books - Left Bank Books - A period coming-of-age story set in the late 1990s, centering around a mystery: When a teen returns home to be reunited with a childhood friend, he discovers that she’s been missing for a week — even though he just spoke with her on the phone the day before.
Wednesday, February 26 - Bowood Farms - Create Your Own Crystal Grid - In this class crystal expert Drew Dinges, will teach you the meditative art of crystal grids and sacred geometry. Each attendee will choose from one of three intention-stone collections, go through the process of building a personalized grid and leave with a complete collapsible grid and set of crystals. Sunday, March 1 - Second Presbyterian Church - Harold Lloyd’s 1927 American classic comedy silent film The Kid Brother will be shown at Second Presbyterian Church on Sunday, March 1 at 4:00 p.m. Still considered by critics and fans as one of Lloyd's best films, The Kid Brother blends comedy, romance, and drama in one action-packed film. Andrew Peters provides live organ accompaniment to this 84 minute film. The church is located at 4501 Westminster Place in the Central West End, St. Louis, 63108. Saturday, March 7 : Saturday Story Time at New City School - Join us for stories, songs, crafts (and coffee!) at New City! During the school year, Heidi Kehle (one of our wonderful preschool teachers), shares her stories and musical magic through Story Time each month from 9:30 - 11:00 am in the New City School Library. Stories and activities are designed for children from infant/toddler through second grade. Saturday Story Time is free and snacks are provided. You can also sign up to receive updates about upcoming Story Time Saturdays!

Wednesday, March 18 - World Chess Hall of Fame - 6:30-8p - Crafts & Cocktails: Framed Glass Pendants with Yuko Suga - Join us for an evening of jewelry designing with Yuko Suga! A featured artist in the exhibit "A Beautiful Game," Suga will guide participants through creating unique images considering identity that will then be transformed into a one-of-a-kind framed glass pendant that plays off of the idea of a modern dog tag. Cathedral Concerts announces their 2019 - 2020 season - Saint Louis Cathedral Concerts, an independent nonprofit that brings sacred and classical music to St. Louis from world-class musicians, releases its concert lineup for the 27th season. The 2019-2020 season kicks off Monday, July 29th at 8:00pm, and continues through Friday, April 21st, 2020. The series of live concerts will showcase notable musicians in one of the world’s most striking cathedrals, the Cathedral Basilica of Saint Louis located at 4431 Lindell Blvd.

Euclid South Community Improvement District does the same from Lindell south. The CWE Neighborhood Security Initiative was created in 2007 to serve the community with a comprehensive plan for security in the Central West End.
