Coming up this week...
1. Sickness:  In order to prevent the spread of deseases, such as Influenza,  PLEASE DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD IF HE/SHE IS SICK!! We have been having several cases where the child arrives to school with a fever, bad cough, stomach aches or not feeling well and had to be sent home.

2. Homework and School Work: If your child is sick, and is not coming to school, we may not send home any work or homework for them to do. Please refrain from calling the office or asking siblings or teachers for work for your child. Let them rest, they are sick. They will have plenty of time (5 days upon their return) to catch up. Thank you.

3. Bake Sale: Thank you PreFirst Graders for your delicious baked goods. You will have FREE DRESS on Wednesday, February 19th. 

4.  WINTER UNIFORM: Due to the cold weather in the morning and hot in the afternoon, the winter uniform is optional from today until further notice.
Coming up this month...
1. Ash Wednesday: Wednesday, February 26th at 8:30 am in the MEK Auditorium.

2. Bingo Night: Friday, February 28th. Early Dismissal. Please confirm your assistance through the electronic letter sent to you earlier this month. If you are picking up your child, send the green note on Thursday, February 27th. No bus invitations! 

3. Green Drive: Monday, March 2nd, 2020. Save recycling material for our next drive. 
Big School
Friday's Free Dress: Children may not come to school wearing shorts, torn jeans, cut blouses, short skirts, etc. 

Hot Lunch: If you would like to buy a card, it is available at the office for $625.00 pesos or each hot lunch costs $25.00 pesos. The menu is available at https://www.colegiojunipero.com.mx/apps/food_menu/
Kinder
Birthday Cake Policy: Parents may come to school to sing happy birthday to their child. Please bring individual treats such as cupcakes, doughnuts, cookies, brownies, etc. ICEES or CAKES that require slicing are not allowed. Please send a note to your child's teacher in advance asking for the time you can come to school. No pictures may be taken. No Candles!

Things everyone should remember...

  • ALL students BIG SCHOOL and KINDER must be in school by 7:55 a.m. If your child is not in route and you are bringing him/her to school, you need to make the necessary arrangements to arrive on time. The only students that will be allowed to enter school after 7:55 a.m. are the ones who went to a doctor, visa/passport appointment and informed the office at least one day in advance and must show a document proving the appointment; in which case you may drop off your child ONLY at 9:30 a.m. (Big School and Kinder) or 11:00 a.m., (only for Big School). No other reasons will be accepted. Do not call school to let us know you are running late, your child will not be allowed to come in after 7:55 a.m. There will be NO EXCEPTIONS.
  • To ensure the safety of ALL children, if your child is taking medicine and bringing it to school, PLEASE send it in a closed recycling bag or container with your child´s name and the time he/she has to take it.
  • Uniform & Free Dress: We would like to remind you that children are not allowed to come with torn uniform and on free dress day with torn jeans, short/seethrough/cut blouses or short skirts.
  • Fridays Dismissal:  On Fridays, due to heavy traffic, the bell will ring at 14:20 and buses will leave at 14:30. Please be on time at your bus stop.
  • Party Bus Permission Slips: If your child is having a party and you rented a bus to take your guests, please send a green bus slip and attach the list with the complete name of the children you are taking. All the children who are attending the party MUST also send their green slip signed by the parent. We would like to remind you that when you rent a bus, it is not the school’s responsibility and 2 adults must ride the bus with the children. Bus permission slips are available for purchase at the School's office or you may print them free of charge at https://www.colegiojunipero.com.mx/apps/pages/index.jsp?uREC_ID=606672&type=d&pREC_ID=1084276.
  • There are NO PERMISSIONS to take your child/children out of school for trips, dance practice, sports tournaments, etc. during school hours, unless:
    • Your child has a doctor or a visa or passport appointment. In which case you may pick your child up ONLY at 11:00 am.
    • Your child’s doctor or a visa or passport appointment is early in the morning. In which case you may drop him/her off ONLY at 9:30 am or 11:00 am. 
    • No other reasons will be accepted.  Please do not call the school.  THERE WILL BE NO EXCEPTIONS!
