I was in Hobart for quite a while. Hobart is okay, I guess. It's like a little Melbourne with its own housing crisis and homelessness problem. It's endlessly amusing to me to watch a place get its smug on and realise how obscure and irrelevant the NW of Tasmania is down there.
Bear in mind I know how much mainlanders look down on Tassie. And like, I was in New York in 2011 and saw a comedy show where they did a summary of all the countries of the world and Australia got a "Paul Hogan at the BBQ with one of his balls out" reference. So, as someone from the most isolated place in the universe, I like to think I am something of a free agent when it comes to perspective.
Oh, the point of the story was that I found a mission brown safari suit jacket with my own name as the brand name. You'd think I would have bought it but then you'd be underestimating the inflation of vintage prices due to the Corona V. I found Corona's 'Rhythm of the night' CD single but it was not for sale.
Shout-outs to Anna, Brit, Matt, Sara, David & Emily, Lou & Tom and Vivien & Ben who showed me kindness and generosity. Not so much the girls I dated down there as we now hate each other.
A long time ago, I used to be friends
YEAH THIS GUY HAS NOT MET ANYONE FROM THE NORTH-WEST COAST. THEY ARE HAVING A GREAT TIME LOGGING THE TARKINE AT THE MOMENT FOR "SELECTED TIMBERS."
The Burnie sunset scene is next level. Mindblown marshmallows of stunning tranquility and epic complexity. Waterfalls of light flame crests of colour. Feast your eyes on these fantasy flux puff portraits. Yes, there is an infinite firebird phoenix of trans dimensional time and space and it lives in Burnie.
(No, it isn't there now).
CITY OF CONTRASTS
(Burnie has its own version of the archibald prize. A bloke called Archie shaves your head to raise awareness for the fire he started in the back paddock)

The trackhas been honoured with inclusion in The Music Network’s Best Australian Songs of the Decade. Nothing sez crushing it like coming 97th on a list.

It's best described as "to be confirmed"

Yeah you'd look like this too if you spent the whole year applying for your Mum's NDIS application.
Thanks for the responses from my previous missive about places to live and offers to record my serious music. I ended up in Echuca for a month. It was wild.
Watchin the world slowly fold in on itself and people present en masse for anxiety and depression is perplexing. It's a bit like watching your favourite band get big.
(I was into them first!) There might be two types of people: Those who know how excruciatingly difficult life generally is and those who act surprised.
Well, not grizzling or judging (Oh, FK no).
But as always, I urge you to give someone a hug or a phonecall if you think they need it. Talk to a psychologist becase that is a good thing to do, any time of the year.

NOTICES & PARTICULARS
The talented Melbourne filmmaker Kasimir Burgess has just released a doco The Leunig Fragments. I helped a little bit by tipping him off to the Luenig attack poem by Tug Dumbly.
There are some great indie films out there as always: The Peanut Butter Falcon features Jake "The Snake" Robbers. He turns out to have the coolest WWF theme song ever. A Boy Called Sailboat is also excellent.
I thought A Beautiful Day In The Neighborhood was great (that director has cool previous films The Diary of a Teenage Girl.)
I just finished Mr Robot and have started Kidding so it's all good.
Generally just rewatching Peep Show in the gaps.
My dear friend Tammy is getting married on Saturday. She did the graphic design for all The Bedroom Philosopher releases. She's one of the loveliest people I could ever hoped to have met.
