On-campus housing announcement

Housing Day is Wednesday, March 25. Students interested in living on campus for the 2020-2021 academic year must participate in order to guarantee on-campus housing. There are two steps that need to be completed: picking up and submitting a housing contract by March 27; and submitting a $400 deposit by April 3. When a student completes a contract and pays the deposit they are obligated to live on campus for the entire year unless they graduate in December. Along with completing the housing contract, students must select a meal plan as it is a requirement for resident students to be enrolled in a meal plan.

2020-2021 costs
Housing
o    FEC Double      $7,280
o    FEC Single       $9,100
o    Abare Double    $7,800
o    Abare Single      $9,170
Meal Plan
o    Full Meal Plan   $5,990 (150.00 Bistro Bucks)

Students are encouraged to stop by the Housing Day tabling events on March 5 and March 23. There will be residence halls tours on March 12 for students to view an Abare and FEC room. During these events, students will engage with Residence Life on how to complete a housing contract, what the due dates are and ask questions.

If you have any questions please contact the Residence Life Office at residencelife@flagler.edu.

Student Accounts announcement

If you or your student are still looking for the 2019 1098-T tax form, have your student refer to the Information email sent on 1/24/2020 with complete instructions to consent to an electronic download for the form. Once completed, students will be able to retrieve their 2019 copy as well as eliminating the wait for the January 31 future mailed copy. If applicable, please remind your student of the importance to complete and submit the Registrar’s online “Change of Address” form.

The final payment for the Spring 2020 online CASHNet Payment Plan is Feb. 15. All remaining account balances must be satisfied no later than Feb. 28 to avoid the $250 late fee.

Women's suffrage inspires student exhibition

With the approaching centennial of the 19th amendment granting women the right to vote, Flagler College Archives Specialist Jolene DuBray and Associate Professor Laura Mongiovi thought it the perfect time to co-organize a student exhibition. The exhibition is titled, “Women Leading the Way: 19th Amendment Centennial.”

The aim was that learning about the 19th amendment could be multi-dimensional: Producing art reflecting on how the passing of the amendment affected society and the thoughts, feelings and emotions during that time; participating in creative writing exercises on the topic; readings of students’ work during the opening event in early February.

The exhibit will remain in the Library Gallery, by the main stairwell, throughout the Spring 2020 Semester. There’s also a corresponding book display nearby.

Business Week

An annual academic week of events, students from all majors can participate in activities ranging from a Saints Panel to the Lion’s Cage. Presented by Rulon International, the theme this year is “Diversity and Integrity in the Global Business Environment: Developing Cultural Intelligence.” Check out all the ways your student can participate here.
