Renewal #15

Better late than never
Hey friends,

I hope you're doing alright these days. On my end, I've been feeling at peace and calm in the last few weeks, but... I have also felt like I'm falling behind schedule on projects that are important to me.

It's rather funny that I would choose to talk about consistency when I almost failed to send a newsletter this week, but there are a few lessons I learned along the way and would like to share with you.

The struggle for consistency

Whether at school, on the blog, the newsletter, for clients or  coding wise, I have so many projects and ideas, I can barely list them all. Sometimes, I will feel on top of my world, managing to make progress on everything but... some other days, I'll struggle to even start working in the morning. And, on days like these, here are a few tips that helped me stay afloat:

1 • Be clear but flexible with your goals
By the end of the year I don't want to look at the amazingness of the few random works I finished, I'd rather look at the quantity of things I've achieved. So, I was clear about putting 1 to 2 works out there every week. And if I can't, it's alright, I will just come back the week after.

2 • Find accountability partners
Find friends, family members, coaches, people that won't judge you if you fall, but will remind you that you have the strength to get up again, no matter what. I'm very thankful for the friends who always have my back, even at times when all hope seems lost.

3 • Whatever happens, just show up, even if it's late
Remember that it’s not the brute strength of the water that breaks the rock, it’s the constant flow”. Nobody cares if you are late, as long as you show up you're on the right track.

I have so many other things I want to say but this newsletter is getting quite long already, so I'll meet you on the blog with more tips and ideas in the the upcoming weeks.
