Debut album HERE WE ARE released worldwide
24 July 2020

After six years and over sixty commissions, The Hermes Experiment is celebrating its unique contribution to the classical and new music scenes with the launch of their debut album HERE WE ARE. With their deliberately idiosyncratic line-up of harp, clarinet, soprano and double bass, the sounds heard both live and recorded are like you’ve never heard before.

The album features music from Emily Hall, Misha Mullov-Abbado, Errollyn Wallen, Freya Waley-Cohen, Joel Rust, Oliver Leith, Anna Meredith, Josephine Stephenson and Giles Swayne. It is set for release globally on 24 July on Delphian Records, and the album launch concert will take place at Kings Place on 4 June. The concert will feature music from the album, as well as a brand new commission from Tom Coult.

The Night With release

Last November, we toured beautiful Scotland as part of The Night With concert series organised by Matthew Whiteside. On 6th March, some of our live performances from the tour will be released on The Night With Live Vol One. The two pieces featured on the album are by Matthew Grouse (TNW commission) and Ruari Paterson-Achenbach (winner of TNW call for scores). More info HERE.
