IMMERSE Small Groups

IMMERSE is a church-wide reading program designed to keep us connected to God by immersing ourselves in His Word. In this 8-week study, our church will embark on a Bible reading program called IMMERSE: Prophets. This study presents the First Testament prophets in groupings that generally represent four historical periods: the prophets who spoke before the fall of Israel’s northern kingdom (Amos, Hosea, Micah, Isaiah), before the fall of the southern kingdom (Zephaniah, Nahum, Habakkuk), around the time of Jerusalem’s destruction (Jeremiah, Obadiah, Ezekiel), and after the return from exile (Haggai, Zechariah, Malachi, Joel, Jonah). The Bible we will be using is the New Living Translation (NLT), but the format has been modified so that it reads like it was intended to be read – like a story. In addition to completing the weekly readings, we’ll meet together in small groups once a week to discuss what we’ve read. These groups are designed to be more like discussion groups than a “fill in the blank” kind of study. We’re asking everyone in the Church to get involved in a small group! The “IMMERSE: Beginnings” Bible ($11) and small group sign-up sheets are available in the lobby.

Youth Ministry Update

Last week we received Bryan Dickson’s resignation as our Youth Ministry Director at RECC. The resignation was effective immediately. Kristine will continue her position as our part-time church secretary and they will remain a part of our church family as they transition to the next chapter of what God has in store for their lives. We thank Bryan for his service to RECC over the past 4 years as our Youth Ministry Director. We wish him well as he continues to pursue his seminary degree.

This coming Sunday, February 23, after the worship service, we will have a special congregational meeting. We will do our best to answer your questions and address your concerns. We also want to hear your input as we make plans to move forward with our Youth Ministry. As the girl’s hockey team will be playing in the state tournament, please stay tuned for potential schedule changes to allow for those families to attend.

F.U.E.L and House groups will continue as scheduled. Pastor Steve will be attending F.U.E.L this Wednesday to answer any questions the kids may have. Release Time will continue as scheduled as well.

Children, Youth and Family ministry have always been a priority at RECC and will continue to be. Please continue to pray for discernment and that God’s will be done. If you have any questions, concerns or ideas, please feel free to contact Pastor Steve or myself.

We are asking for donations of peanut butter, canned fruit, canned soup, spaghetti sauce and crackers. Donations may be placed on the table in the lobby. Please share what you can to help feed local families in our community! Contact: Kathy Brant.

Save the Date!

The Missions and Outreach board will host a fundraiser meal for Feed My Starving Children on Sunday, March 1, following the morning Worship Service. This meal will raise money to pay for the meals we pack at the FMSC Mobile Pack Event. Contact: Kathy Brant.

Additionally, if you are interested in helping to hand-pack meals for malnourished children around the world, and have a great time doing it, sign up to attend the FMSC packing event coming up in April! The event will be in Grand Forks, April 17-19. We are not sure yet when our 2-hour time slot will be, but if you are interested, let Pastor Kecia know. We will also coordinate rides. This is a really fun way to make a great impact and to share the love and hope of Jesus in today's world!

Ladies – please join us for a brunch on Saturday, February 29, at 10:00am at the home of Jeanie Hamness (29522 400th Avenue, Roseau) as we celebrate Kristine and Josie Faith (born 12-13-19).
