Campus Announcements
Dr. Vernon asks all students to take a brief survey about mental health and wellness so we can work to bring more needed mental health resources to the Jupiter campus. Personalized links to this confidential survey will come in emails from FAU President John Kelly. Student survey results will have all identifying information removed by the University of Michigan research team before being returned to Dr. Vernon. If you have questions, please email Dr. Vernon at lvernon@fau.edu. The survey links will work until February 28 and students who start the survey can use the links to go back and complete it at any time until February 28."



Psych Club is looking for three new officers
(Marketing Director, Event Coordinator, and Historian) to help transform the club and make it better! No prior experience needed, just a passion for psychology and making events that would benefit other students.

Scholarships Available
  • Are you considering teaching as a career? Do you volunteer in the public school system or have an interest in doing so? If so, the O’Hagan Mentoring Young Lives Scholarship may be a match for you. The scholarship provides funding for students with financial need who volunteer 50 hours or more mentoring young people in the public school system. If you are interested in applying or want further information on this scholarship contact Dr. Monica Maldonado mmaldonado@fau.edu.
  • Are you a STEM student with an interest in tutoring young people? You should consider applying for the Alice and Don Hudson Scholarship at the Edna Runner Center. This scholarship provides financial assistance to Wilkes Honors College students who demonstrate academic excellence, financial need, and a commitment to community service. Students may receive up to $2500 per semester in scholarship funds to be applied toward their tuition and fees during the fall, spring, and summer semesters for up to six consecutive semesters. The goal of this scholarship is to develop well-rounded, skilled, and committed individuals who are motivated to engage in STEM education and outreach activities at the Edna Runner Tutorial Center in Jupiter.  Preference will be given to applicants with financial need who demonstrate a commitment to community service, academic excellence, and the ability to tutor grade and middle school students in STEM education. Scholarship recipients will be required to complete a minimum of three credits (180 hours) of internship work with the Edna Runner Tutorial Center during each academic year the scholarship is received. MADRID, SPAIN - We have increased the size of the program to 16 students this year for the Summer Program in Universidad Complutense de Madrid. This has resulted in a few spots currently being available. If you want to take advantage of this opportunity, please do not delay as the spots will be filled on a first come, first served basis.

Princesses Against Cancer 
Call for Volunteers



The Princesses Against Cancer (PAC) is an organization that visits children in different hospitals who are battling life threatening illnesses, dressed up as their favorite princess character. 

The PAC is looking for volunteers.

The Guatemalan-Maya Center is seeking volunteers!
The Guatemalan-Maya Center is looking for committed volunteers on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:00pm - 6:00pm to tutor kids from kindergarten to 5th grade in Mathematics and English.
 
The Guatemalan-Maya Center's Escuelita Maya VPK and preschool programs were established to help facilitate the Florida Voluntary Prekindergarten Education Program to children of families in underserved communities. 
 
Background checks and fingerprinting will be required for volunteers to complete before they begin volunteering, both of which will be paid for by the center.

Paid Summer Internship Program
The Norton Museum of Art Summer Internship Program provides four undergraduate students the opportunity to gain practical art museum experience, engage in intellectual discourse, and develop professional skills throughout a seven-week program. 

Internship Dates: June 15, 2020 – July 31, 2020
Application Deadline: March 20, 2020

Interns will be paid and receive housing in West
Palm Beach (WPB), FL.
