BOOKSHOP.ORG Open Book by Jessica Simpson My business book club friend Amy sent out this article to our group about keeping a balanced bookshelf and reading diet. I replied with a laugh that I was balancing reading about stoicism with Jessica Simpson's memoir. That was before I finished the book... One of my favorite lines is toward the end, where she says "If you do not have that stable presence in your life, take the time to become that stable presence for yourself - to find that stillness within you no matter what storm you're in." This was such a wonderful book and I'd recommend it to anyone. It feels like you're having a conversation with her.
BOOKSHOP.ORG Stillness Is The Key by Ryan Holiday Wowowow I loved this book. I took so many pages of notes on this one. Some of my favorite nuggets: "Routine, done long enough ad sincerely enough, becomes more than routine. It becomes ritual - sanctified and holy." "This is what the best journals look like. They aren't for the reader; they're for the writer - to slow the mind down, to wage peace with oneself." I'm huge on journaling and love the bullet journal method, because it mixes to-dos with reflection.
BOOKSHOP.ORG Never Split The Difference by Chris Voss I'm worried to share this book because you'll all know my negotiating secrets. haha. This was a really interesting book. The author is an FBI international kidnapping negotiator. He also has a masterclass.
BOOKSHOP.ORG Anti-Diet by Christy Harrison I love Christy's podcast, Food Psych. I felt like I was having revelations while I was reading it, but there was so much to take in I can tell I'm going to want to read this book over and over. I think it's the type of message you need to hear a few times.
