Raising ambition for an EU Biodiversity Strategy

Last January the European Committee of the Regions hosted the event "Bio-diverse cities and regions beyond 2020", gathering the voice of different stakeholders to input an opinion in regards to the EU next biodiversity strategy which will also serve as an official position to the meetings and negotiations of the post-2020 global biodiversity framework.

Outcomes of the 10th World Urban Forum

The WUF10 took place on 8-13 February in Abu Dhabi accompanied by a session of the World Assembly of Local and Regional Governments convened by the Global Task Force. Leaders from all around the globe discussed how culture and innovation can support achieve the global goals with discussions resulting in the Abu Dhabi Declared Actions.

BIO2020 in Sao Paulo: Towards a post-2020 Biodiversity Framework

The event "BIO 2020: Brazilian Perspectives on the post-2020 Biodiversity Framework" gathered local and subnational leaders of the Brazilian biosphere reserves to jointly develop a contribution to the current negotiations which are now being presented by the Advisory Committee on Subnational Governments at the 2nd meeting of the Open-ended Working Group in Rome.

A worldwide community of regional governments committed to adopting a strategic approach to climate adaptation are collaborating to build a renewed RegionsAdapt initiative to be presented at COP 26 in Glasgow as a contribution to effectively address the climate emergency.
