Research as usual.
Dear Neil Sachse supporters,

A month ago, none of us could possibly have imagined the challenges we face as a community today. Individuals at high risk are foremost in all our minds, and the Neil Sachse Centre hopes you are taking precautions to keep you and yours healthy.

The Coronavirus situation is evolving very quickly. The Health authorities have the best information, and regularly update that data. We encourage you to check these resources frequently to ensure you have current and correct facts. We're following the developing news from WHO and the Australian Government closely. For up-to-date information on Coronavirus COVID-19, please refer to: https:www.health.gov.au/ www.who.int

Spinal cord injury research continues, with the greatest care for the patients in the Project Discovery clinical trial, and our scientists. Concerns relating to delays on the international supply of test equipment due to bottlenecks at ports and reduced logistics handling capacity have been flagged, and we are ready to manage these challenges as we face them.

For this team, it’s business as usual, via remote connections. We are currently working on the launch of the 2020 Project Discovery Classic #5; the annual cycling tour. This annual event occurs in November and sponsorship opportunities are open; we welcome your support. This year’s ride will head from Adelaide to the Barossa Valley and return. More on this soon.

A number of NSC events planned over April and May have been cancelled or postponed, to slow to spread of Covid 19 and reduce exposure risks. We will keep you all informed of all changes, and announcements of the rescheduled events.

It’s a good time to look out for others less fortunate. Offer to drop off groceries to an elderly neighbour or friend, or show your family how to order groceries, meals and pharmacy items online.

Our Australian community is renowned for pulling together in times of hardship; we will get through this period, we’ll continue to innovate and continue to work diligently on helping people with Spinal Cord Injuries face a brighter future.

Take care, and best wishes,

Sarah Boucaut
