Your Weekly Recap
By ROBYN DOBSON
Hello, State Hornet readers.
Here's a roundup of what you may have missed in Sacramento State sports between last week and today:
1. Sac State men’s basketball player is the ‘connector of the team’
Rahul Lal - The State Hornet
The Sac State men’s basketball team is one win away from securing a .500 or better record for the third time since the Hornets moved to Division I in 1991.
As one of the seniors, forward Osi Nwachukwu is nearing the finish line with the Hornets. However, he said he is looking to get the most out of his last regular season game as well as the Big Sky tournament.
“Osi is pretty much the connector of the team, he is the one that gets everyone going,” said senior center Joshua Patton.
Read more about Nwachukwu's time at Sac State in this profile from men's basketball beat writer Ian Edwards here.
2. Sac State women's rugby club welcomes all skill levels
Jesse Tapia - The State Hornet
The women’s rugby club has been at Sac State since 1999 and strives to provide a welcoming environment for all members.
"One of my friends that I met at the dorms brought me out to watch a game and I just fell in love with the scrum and the community of it,” senior Madison Alford said.
