You are the among the first to learn that tickets are now on sale for this year’s milestone 40th Baroque Music Festival, June 21-28. This season we invite you on a grand tour of Europe and beyond with five concerts over eight days of choral works, music for the stage, solo concertos, Baroque-era folk music, trio sonatas, orchestral music by J.S. In pursuit of our Festival mission to perform specifically Baroque music, we have traditionally (and happily!) tended to focus on the European masters of the period. For our 40th season celebration we honor this tradition, but also include composers from the New World, feature a dancer, and choose some works that reflect Baroque Europe’s awareness of, and fascination with, the exotic world far beyond its own borders.

You may want to take note of the upcoming inaugural L.A. Bach concert being presented on Saturday, March 21 at 8:00 p.m. in West Hollywood, Los Angeles. The Baroque Music Festival’s principal oboist Stephen Hammer directs a rich program of J.S. Bach’s vocal and instrumental chamber works on the composer’s birthday, with fifteen of L.A.’s finest professional Baroque-specialist musicians. Free.
