A big welcome to Autumn! What incredible challenges Australians have endured over these past summer months as communities rallied to support people in bushfire-affected areas.  The importance of volunteers, particularly at this time, is exceptionally important!

Thank goodness, the newspapers have reported that the last of the fires are under control or out.

We are forever grateful to the thousands of emergency service volunteers who have dedicated themselves and their time to protecting our country.  But also supporting the emergency services are the volunteers who have been assisting with food distribution, cleanup and rebuilding. The support is immeasurable.

Thank you also to those people who have contacted us to ask how they can help.  

With 2020 highlighting the value of volunteers, Volunteer for Knox Resource Centre is looking forward to working with you across a range of activities and programs throughout the year.  We will continue to support, highlight and advocate for volunteers, volunteer managers and volunteer involving organisations.

Our governance team the Knox Learning Alliance comprising the five Community Houses in Knox: Coonara Community House, Mountain District Learning Centre, The Basin Community House, Orana Neighbourhood House and Rowville Neighbourhood Learning Centre are able to offer courses for new and existing volunteers. So if you need to update your employability skills please contact your local Knox Community house and ask for a brochure.
