Volunteers Needed for Simple Lenten Meal!
Friday, March 13th - 6:30 PM - Cathedral North Conference Room
Join and volunteer with us as C†YA sponsors the Simple Lenten Meal for Friday, March 13. Each Friday during Lent, the parish hosts a simple meal of meatless soup and bread, and raise money for a local charity. C†YA needs volunteers to help prepare soup, bring bread, and help set-up and clean-up as we raise money for Kairos Prison Ministry. Please complete this form if you can help out! Please email Dan Horning if you have questions!
Cathedral Coffeehouse - Living the Eucharist Series
Every Sunday (next - March 8th) - immediately following the 5:30 PM Mass - Cathedral North Conference Room
Join us for our weekly Coffeehouse Series, which is a low-key, meet-and-greet opportunity to catch up with old friends and learn about Catholic topics in 20 minutes or less! During Lent, we will be participating in the Living the Eucharist series, which leads us through prayer and lectio divina. Can't make it each week? No problem! Cathedral Coffeehouse will continue every week so drop in when you can for "Catholic Stuff in 20 minutes or less!" Email C†YA with any questions.

Dinner with the L'Arche Community: A small group from St. Matthew's visits the L'Arche Houses in Adams Morgan on Saturday, March 7 to share dinner with the residents there. We bring different healthy food items to share with 6-12 people. Interested in cooking a dinner dish and sharing in dinner with the residents of the L'Arche Community? Contact Franz Kuo to sign up.
Homeless Ministry: Volunteers are needed to prepare bagged lunches, donate breakfast food, and/or serve on Monday mornings at St. Matthew’s weekly Breakfast Ministry for the poor and homeless. Contact Jim Walsh for more information on volunteering and making donations to the Homeless Ministry.
Serve as a Liturgical Minister at the Cathedral: The Cathedral is in need of liturgical ministers at all Masses, including weekday Masses. Ministers of hospitality (greeters), ushers, extraordinary ministers of Holy Communion, and servers are especially needed. The suggested commitment is one Sunday per month. Contact Deacon Bart Merella for more information on expectations and training.
Opportunities for Financial Stewardship: St. Matthew's Sunday music leaflets now contain a QR code, which allows you to donate online to the Cathedral, in case you forgot to bring cash for the collection. Did you know that the Cathedral receives no direct financial assistance from the Archdiocese, and relies solely upon you, our parishioners and friends, to keep the lights on and bring Christ into our city? Please consider making a financial offering to the Cathedral. $10 is the equivalent of two lattes from Starbucks, or a wine on happy hour special. If you sign up for FaithDirect, your offering will be debited from your bank account once per month. That $10 will go a long way! Please click here if you are interested in helping the Cathedral meet its financial obligations and be a beacon of light to our local community.
