The festival is nearly upon us. The site looks amazing and performers are rolling in to Port Fairy and the wonderful volunteers are finessing their magnificent work of the past year to bring to you, for your absolute pleasure the 44th Port Fairy Folk Festival.
The Port Fairy Folk Festival Committee have been monitoring the Victorian Chief Health Officers advice on Coronavirus. After consulting with the Department late yesterday it was confirmed that the Port Fairy Folk Festival is considered to be an extremely low risk. The Committee will continue to monitor the advice from the Chief Health Officer and will respond to any and all directions. In the mean time it is recommended that everyone practise good hand hygiene and sneeze/cough etiquette. Anyone with Coronavirus type symptoms should seek medical advice.
Getting To The Festival
Our wonderful partners TAC are once again supporting the festival bus service to and from Warrnambool and Gum Tree Caravan Park and the Port Fairy FestivalShuttle.
There are plenty of reasons to stop for respite if you are on the road to the festival this weekend
Give yourself a break every two hours, and have a 15 minute powernap because it could save your life.
Slowing down, staying alert and driving to the conditions is the best way to come and go from the festival this year.
Look out for the Rotary and SES rest stops on your way to and from the festival and drop in for a free coffee
Planning ahead takes the guess work out of getting home and ensures a happy festival, if you are planning on having a few drinks at the festival. Leave the car behind and jump on the shuttle bus.
Look out for the TAC team at the Shebeen, providing free breath tests during the festival and sharing information on how to get home safely.
We look forward to seeing you at the 44th Port Fairy Folk Festival.
