March Forth in Good Health

Here's another reminder to wash your hands,
keep well, and help stop the spread of germs.
GROWING LEADERS BLOG

Generosity in Actions

There they were in my rear-view mirror. Flashing lights and the image of the local city police car. I was 16 years old and driving around in my pick-up truck feeling on top of the world.

I learned a lot in that moment about humility, generosity, and paying it forward. Generosity really is the speeding ticket you want in life.

And generosity in actions - whether self-quarantining, dropping off groceries or a meal, or calling an isolated friend - is especially important as we look ahead to proactively responding to the coronavirus and seeking to minimize risk of disease in our community of faith and beyond.

Safeguarding Our Health

Dear friend, I pray that you may enjoy good health and that all may go well with you, even as your soul is getting along well. 3 John 1

Here in Washington, the risk of coronavirus is very much on our minds and in our reality. The State of Washington currently has a state of emergency with the spread of COVID-19 (coronavirus). We all desire to be in good health.

This is a time to take common sense precautions to safeguard your personal health with:

  • Good hand hygiene habits
  • Respiratory etiquette
  • General immunity boosting wellness habits
  • Trust in God
Stopping transmission (spread) of the virus through everyday practices is best way for people and organizations to keep healthy. Illnesses change but basic preventative measures do not.

This week, we've collected from the experts a list of healthy habits for individuals, churches, schools and ministries so we can do our part to minimize the public health risk we are currently facing.

Thank you for taking proactive actions to safeguard the health and well being of our families, churches, schools, workplaces and communities.
Review Healthy Habits for Staying Well

Q: Should we close churches with the current risk of coronavirus in our area?

A: A lot of this decision depends...on you.

If you have symptoms of sickness and stay home to follow the self-quarantine guidelines and also instructions from your medical provider, churches and other public places have a higher likelihood of staying open.

Please continue your hand hygiene (frequent hand washing), respiratory etiquette (coughing into your elbow), and good health immunity boosting. Your every day actions can help stop the spread of disease.

Some Plans Change,
Some Stay the Same

Our schools are monitoring, evaluating and responding to risks associated with the coronavirus.

This weekend is a significant time for our schools with the launch of registration and enrollment season on Sunday, March 8. Some schools, like Forest Park School in Everett, is postponing open house plans. Other schools are moving ahead with their Open House plans. Check with your school of choice to confirm the open house date and time.

If you are not feeling well, please stay home from a school open house or any ministry event. You may call your local school office to pre-register your child and arrange for a personal tour when you are back to full health. Your health and wellness is important!

MARCH 7 OFFERING: Local Church Budget

Faithful in Small Things

The local church has an array of ministry opportunities that reach out to students, single parents, economically disadvantaged people, the sick, and the imprisoned. Our faithful and generous support of these ministries will have a tremendous dividend for eternity. Let us be liberal and magnanimous in supporting our local church budget. This support will serve people in need and introduce them to Jesus.
