MARCH 2020 E-NEWSLETTER

Recipe for St. Patrick's Day Irish stew:
  • Get some meat, some potatoes, onions, peas, spinach and a lot of Guinness.
  • Drink all of the beer.
  • Forget about the stew.

On a golf tour in Ireland, Tiger Woods drives his BMW into a petrol station in a remote part of the Irish countryside.
The pump attendant obviously knows nothing about golf, greets him in a typical Irish manner completely unaware of who the golfing pro is.
Top of the mornin’ to yer, sir” says the attendant.
Tiger nods a quick “hello” and bends forward to pick up the nozzle.
As he does so, two tees fall out of his shirt pocket onto the ground.
“What are dose? asks the attendant.
“They’re called tees” replies Tiger.
“Well, what on the god’s earth are dey for?” inquires the Irishman.
“They’re for resting my balls on when I’m driving”, says Tiger.
Fookin Jaysus”, says the Irishman, “BMW thinks of everything.

Beer of the Month

 BITBURGER BREWERY AND SIERRA NEVADA
COLLABORATE ON TRIPLE HOP’D LAGER

Following up on their wildly successful first collaboration beer “Oktoberfest” in fall 2019, Sierra Nevada and Bitburger Brewery, producer of Germany’s #1 draft beer, are releasing their second collaboration beer in March, 2020, Triple Hop’d Lager. In December 2019, Sierra Nevada’s Brian Grossman and Scott Jennings traveled to Bitburg, Germany to brew the Triple Hop’d Lager,  due to be released in 11.2 ounce six pack cans, 11.2 ounce 24 loose cans, and draft in March 2020. This collaboration beer is highlighted by a combination of American hops, Cascade, Centennial, and Chinook, paired together with ‘Siegelhopfen’ – Bitburger’s proprietary and unique hop blend that’s sourced from a farm just a few minutes from the brewery. Unique to this one-time brew, the same farm provided the Cascade hops that lends Triple Hop’d Lager its desirable floral and citrus/grapefruit profile. Jointly, the American and German hops shape the unique and exciting profile of a very enjoyable 5.8% ABV beer. This one-time limited offering, in addition to the “perfect pilsner”, Bitburger Premium Pils, will be available in selected global markets, including the United States.

JOB OPPORTUNITIES

Wine of the Month

Tenuta Frescobaldi di Castiglioni

Tenuta Frescobaldi di Castiglioni
a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot with a small amount of Cabernet Franc and Sangiovese, has the right generousness. Rich, jammy black cherry fruit reveals energetic undertones of iron-laced earth, tart cherry, turned soil, and fresh herbs. All carry through to the palate, sweet spice amped up by grippy tannins and fading out to a long, sweet caramel finish. Great with stewed or panfried meats and roasted pork, ideal with gammy meats, and a must-try with savoury cheeses.
