March 15: We will complete The Five Invitations with Invitation #5 "Cultivate Don't Know Mind."

Here is a lovely quote from Invitation #4:
In order to begin our spiritual journeys, we must be motivated by seeking a better life - deeper connections with ourselves and others....Yet too often our quests for peace and fulfillment get entangled with striving...We accumulate practices, beliefs, and strategies as we seek solutions. We continuously search for answers outside ourselves, when in fact we already have everything we need, here, within us.

"Wholesome desire" is one form of seeking. This is the desire to be free, to know what is true and be completely ourselves. Whole desire does not feel agitated. It removes the restlessness because we stop looking outside ourselves... It feels more like love, our true nature...It's a love affair with truth.

March 22, 29 and April 5 and 12: Arts and crafts to celebrate the first day of spring (March 19th) and Earth Day (April 22nd).

Drop in any time between 9:00 and the 10:30 service to dabble in arts and crafts to welcome the spring.  Several projects will be available that can be completed over the next four weeks. Some items will be available but if you have them at home, the following items will be used:

ribbon, twine, pretty yarn, etc.
bells
dried flowers, leaves
beads - probably large holes are best
feathers

geejaws and tchotchkes of all kinds (A tchotchke (/ˈtʃɒtʃkə/ CHOTCH-kə) is a small bauble or miscellaneous item. The word has long been used by Jewish-Americans and in the regional speech of New York City and elsewhere. It is Slavic in origin.)

CREATING VITALITY - DEEPENING COMMUNITY

A welcoming community offers opportunities for connections and practices invitations.

Thank you to all who participated in Cafe Conversations hosted by Council on February 9, 2020! Thank you for sharing your insights. Please take a look at the feedback here

If you’d like to plan an event or organize something you are passionate about, contact a council member or Miranda in the office. We can help you get it on the calendar and offer whatever support you’d like. In the coming months we hope you will help us offer opportunities for connections, talk about Koinonia, and invite people to participate.

Let’s continue to incorporate our strengths and passions into intentional planning; try new things and evaluate their impact; practice invitations; and participate in ways that inspire our journeys and fill us with aliveness!
