Water in the Landscape seminar
Thursday 12 March

Coorparoo Bowls Club

A Brisbane Catchments Network event. Features a panel discussion and audience Q&A facilitated by B4C President Mik Petter.

Guest panelists include:
  • Dr Paul Dennis (School of Environmental Science, UQ),
  • Assoc Prof Karen Vella (School of Built Environment, QUT)
  • Cameron Jackson (Water Quality & Environment, Urban Utilities)
We'll be discussing the science, community, urban planning issues and more surrounding water and soil health.

Humanity, through its activities (deforestation, agriculture, urbanisation), accelerates the runoff of rainwater and causes draining of the transformed land. Distortion of the small water cycle impacts the large water cycle.

Yimbun Sunday Bushcare
Sunday 15 March, 8am-10am
Meet at the corner of Jacinda St & Lavinia St, Sunnybank

Everyone welcome to this monthly bushcare session at a lovely spot on Bulimba Creek. Please wear closed-in shoes, sun-smart clothing and repellent. See the FB event and invite other locals.

Yimbun Community Planting
Tuesday 17 March, 9am-11am
Meet at the car park at McCullough St, Sunnybank

Everyone welcome. This planting is thanks to funding from the Federal Communities Environment Program (CEP). The area has been prepared and we've got 600 plants to get in the ground! We'd love your help. Please wear closed-in shoes, sun-smart clothing and repellent. Bring your own resuable water bottle. Morning tea provided. See the FB event and invite other locals.
