Spring is just around the corner....we promise.

Hello fellow SPGC members and subscribers!

Given the recent snow fall it is hard to believe that spring is just around the corner!
As reported last fall, Blue Jay Irrigation completed installation of our new irrigation system in November, albeit working long hours through some blizzard conditions. The system has not yet been tested and there is some cleanup work required to get the course back into shape. This work will occur in mid to late April, weather permitting, allowing the course to open in early May.

Thanks to everyone who has contributed to our fundraising campaign, we've raised enough funds to cover most of our expenses related to the new irrigation system!  We have a few more costs to cover and the fundraising fund is still open so if you haven’t had a chance to donate, now is your chance. You can do so at by clicking on the following link to the National Sports Trust Fund: http://www.sport4ontario.ca/isf.html.

Mike Gascho will be back with us again in 2020 as Director of Golf Course Operations, as will Jim Myerscough as Greens Superintendent. We have also hired Christa LeCraw to help us with Club communications. This will include a greater presence in social media as well as traditional media outlets so make sure to like and subscribe on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. Mike will continue to work on enhancing our Junior Golf Program and organizing clinics throughout the summer. The future success of our club depends on increasing membership and encouraging young ones to take up the sport so please spread the word about our junior golf program.

We will once again have a booth at the Kawartha Lakes Country Living Show, April 24 – 26.  Drop by and say “Hi”.

As in previous years, your membership fee includes a gold membership in Golf Canada, with a value of $49.95.  This gold membership comes with many benefits including an official Golf Canada handicap.  For more information, please visit http://golfcanada.ca/.
Thank you for your continued support of Sturgeon Point Golf Club.  With our new irrigation system, we can be proud to be the best 9 hole golf course in the Kawarthas! Please encourage your friends and family to come out and enjoy our wonderful facility.
See you on the course!!

On behalf of the Board of Directors,
Bill Baker, President
