Gooooooooooooooaaaaaaallllllllll - Back by popular demand, our Finishing Fridays clinic! Led by FIFA Legend and World Hall of Fame inductee, Sissi, players will receive instruction on how to not only finish in the final 1/3rd, but also learn about passing and receiving, visual cues, and various methods on striking the ball! Finishing Friday's provides an opportunity to players who want to improve their skill, tactical awareness and the mental approach to finishing on goal. News and Notes:
Recreation (FALL) program online registration will be open March 2020.
We are excited about the upcoming fall 2020 recreation soccer season and are busy finalizing our registration for players and coaches. Our registration start date will be announced very soon via this web site, club newsletter, and club's social media chanels.
There are several new and fun enhancements we are looking forward to in 2020.
- new registration format
- new uniforms
- new coaching education offering
- increased social media presence for our players, coaches and parents!

Over the next few weeks we will continue to communicate out our recreation program details, calendar and key updates.
Winter Select program started in December and is currently playing in the AYSO league. Our 10 teams represent over 200 players who compete against local and regional soccer club's. To follow and support our Winter Select teams, go to your app store, search for WCSSC fields and download the app. Our select and competitive teams will be listed if they have games in Walnut Creek.
Congratulations to many of our winter select teams that participated in the President's Cup earlier this month. Check out the photos of our teams and congratulations to six of our teams that played in the finals, 3 of which raised the championship trophy!
Fall Select 2020 Tryouts -
The club has announced our 2020 Fall Select tryouts
May 13th and 14th for U10, U12 and U14 girls and boys. We will not be offering a U16 age group in 2020. More details will become available closer to tryout dates, including field location, tryout registration, etc.

All teams will return to the training grounds March 2nd with our older teams coming off their high school break and joining our Academy and U9 thru U13 teams. Matches resume for most teams March 7th, including upcoming showcase and tournaments. Exciting spring upon us for all competitive teams.
Important - Player & Parent Agreement - Notice of amendment as of February 1, 2020. The updates include slight changes to the Player & Parent agreement regarding 24hr cooling off period, Surf Nation communication, and a revised Grievance process. NorCal Premier State Cup Update -
The weekend of February 22nd and 23rd in Modesto was the site of NorCal Premier's State Cup finals for the 2007 and 2008 age groups. WC Surf SC had two teams in the finals. Our 2007BW team led by Coach Mike Morgan WON the PlatinumA division with a 2-1 score. Our girls 2008GB team led by Nara Fonseca finished in second place in a very close game. Daniela Perez - 2003GB and World Cup U20 Player for Nicaragua!
The FIFA U20 CONCACAF region knockout round for Nicaragua was played yesterday vs Puerto Rico. The game was 0-0 until the 77th minute and Puerto Rico scored and held on to a 1-0 win. Congratulations to Dani and Nicaragua for an excellent effort and participating in World Cup qualifying!

WCSC Referee and current USSF National Referee, Stephen McGonagle, is now a member of PRO & eligible for assignment as Ass’t Referee to MLS Games! It’s a big step up for Stephen, one of the best young Referees out of the WC Ref Program! Congratulations Stephen, we are proud of you!

To note: WC Surf SC has programs that are locally, regionally and nationally governed. The Laws of the Game, and modified rules, are then applied to various age groups in our recreation and competitive programs. Not all age groups have the exact same Laws of the Game or rule modifications. Check with your Coach or email us if you have questions.
