Resource Spotlight
Resources fo the 2020 U.S. Census
The 2020 Census is a count of every person living in the United States that happens once every 10 years. The United States Census Bureau has made available new activities and resources specifically for the 2019-2020 school year to spotlight the 2020 Census and the importance of making sure everyone is counted, especially children. Parents and families of young children frequently do not realize the importance of including children who live with them full time, or a majority of the time, when completing the Census form. Children under 5 are one of the largest groups undercounted in the United States.

The decennial count impacts the federal funds that communities receive for special education, classroom technology, teacher training, after-school programs, school lunch assistance, and more. Click here to see the 2020 resources, which include K-12 activities, pre-K materials, EL/Adult ESL activities, and family-friendly explanation videos. Resources are also available in other languages as well.
