Warning Storm Jorge

LOCATIONS: Stratford upon Avon to Tewkesbury

State of Readiness: FLOODCON 1 (see table below)

Storm 'Jorge' is forecast to cause significant rises in river levels on all reaches from Stratford upon Avon to Tewkesbury this weekend. The worst effected reaches will be Strensham to Tewkesbury where levels could exceed October levels due to levels on the River Severn.

All ANT permanent mooring sites are closed for access, we would like to advise all mooring operators and moorers to prepare for a significant weather and river level event, however do not take unnecessary risks by entering flood water.

Following the flooding there is expected to be further damage to the navigation. If you are planning to navigate when the levels return to AMBER or GREEN call the incident concern hotline below for advice.

Before this weather event the following stoppages were in place:

Evesham Lock - upstream entrance blocked with debris

Barton Lock - upstream gate failure

Warnings of shallows, flotsam and jetsam on all reaches. Shallows have been identified at Nafford, Pershore and Fladbury lock entrances. The navigation will have further issues following this weather event.

Advice:
DO NOT NAVIGATE WITHOUT CALLING INCIDENT NUMBER
