I wrote my first poem in June, 2017, because I woke up with a start in the middle of the night, with some thoughts that couldn’t find their way into prose. So, I wrote a poem, of sorts. Two dreams later that spring, and there were now 3 poems, so I signed up for the Wintergreen poetry writing workshop with Lorna Crozier. The group dynamic, was as interesting to me, as learning to write better poems. I was the lone male among 17 women, and the least experienced and accomplished poet there. I am 70 years old, an active leadership development consultant and executive coach, working out of Toronto. Happily married to Elizabeth, with two adult daughters and a grand-daughter. www.brittainconsulting.ca
