Hawai'i Art News From

Hi Friends,

I hope you are doing well and handling the world events positively and creatively. As many of the things we counted on have drastically changed, I'd like to ask if you will visualize for a minute...

Imagine returning to the activities you enjoy and the people you love. Feel how great it is to gather and hug and shake hands. Feel yourself getting healthier, wealthier, and smarter than ever before. Embrace that feeling and crack a smile with confidence. Your vibration has instantly risen.

Each day I practice visualizing the things that I want so thank you for allowing me to share that with you.

To meet the demand for educational entertainment during the quarantime, I have a link to some Free Color Book pages on my website and also a link to my YouTube Channel in the newsletter below.

Since all of my scheduled art classes and events have been postponed, I'll be hosting a Facebook Live Q and A show and painting demonstration show on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10am starting on Tuesday, March 31.

In this time when we all need to help each other in ways we never knew, I am offering a free Naturally Hawaiian 2020 calendar to every print ordered as well.

Remember to be extra kind and help us all through this important time with your deeds, thoughts and prayers.

With Aloha from me,

Art Tip

Creative Diversity
When I was sixteen and  learning how to paint with oils, my teacher said many times, "Patrick, you have to specialize in a style and if it's successful, the public won't support you if you change it."

Though he spoke from well earned experience, I decided that was one lesson I was not going to adopt from my mentor. The simple reason was that I knew myself and what art was for me. It was a way of getting to know myself.

Since then I have spent a lifetime getting to know and use various materials and tools to create my art. The basis of this art tip is that I'm encouraging You
to do the same.

In this time when most of us are staying at home, we are presented with a great opportunity to learn new things.

Take online classes and stretch your comfort zone. Try painting with a knife or try another form of art.

I don't see much difference between painting and writing and music and film making. They are all art using different tools and developing different skills. Your compositional signature will find a way to shine through any medium
you may indulge in.

Only recently I've been painting with thick paint and a knife. I'm sure the purists would cringe at the way I do it but heck, it is fun and rewarding.

So if you're waiting for permission from someone to try something new, please take it from me and explore the inner You.
