Town of Raymond looking for a Tax Collector
The Town of Raymond is accepting applications for the position of Tax Collector to function independently in all official Tax Collector responsibilities while working with the Town Manager to address issues relating to tax and deeded property matters. This is a full-time, non-exempt 40/hour per week position responsible for administrative and technical work. The Town of Raymond offers a competitive benefits package. Compensation subject to qualifications and experience. Pay Range $19.95 - $23.14 plus benefits. Ra ymond Police Department 
The Raymond Police Department is putting together a team to participate in the 8th Annual “Strike Out Child Abuse” BOWL-A-THON fundraiser on March 16, 2020 at Strikers East Bowling Center. This event funds the Child Advocacy Center for Rockingham County.
The Child Advocacy Center is an organization that conducts forensic child interviews helping child victims of physical and sexual abuse and their families. Here in Raymond, we utilize their services for every sexual or physical assault case that involves a child. They partner with all the necessary agencies and specialists to help children and their families heal, survive and thrive. The CAC is a non-profit organization and depends on donations and fundraising to keep the center operational.

On Call Engineering Services
The Town of Raymond is soliciting interest and proposals from Civil and Structural Engineer Firms for “On Call” Engineering Services. The firms are requested to complete a Bid Form that provides proposed hourly rates for the various professionals that might be involved in a given assignment. The selected firm would be “On Call” to respond to requests for engineering services related to such things as a culvert replacement.

Water Superintendent
The Town of Raymond is seeking a highly responsible, hands on, position involving the management, maintenance, operation and construction of the Town of Raymond municipal water system under the direction of the Director of Public Works. The scope of responsibilities includes supervision of personnel, budget control, compliance with all regulatory obligations for operation, sampling and reporting, functionality of SCADA system, assets management, identifying and implementing operational efficiencies, defining maintenance projects and procuring the services to address issues. Equipment Operator/Truck Driver/Laborer: Grounds & Highway
The Town of Raymond is seeking applicants for the position of Laborer in the Grounds and Highway Division. This individual assists in daily maintenance of the Town’s parks, lawns and recreational fields during warm weather months and participates in winter highway maintenance activities during winter months. Transfer Station - Prescott Rd
A new 5 year Transfer Station Operating Agreement was signed on January 31, 2020. With the new contract is a new price list. The new rates became effective February 1, 2020. The new Price List establishes two pricing categories. One column of pricing for Raymond Residents and a separate column of pricing for Non-Residents. See attached Price List

 Story Time for Raymond children ages 3 through 6 is on Tuesdays and Fridays from 10:30-11:15 a.m. at the Dudley-Tucker Library. Each session is limited to 12 children, and sign-up is required. We are taking sign-ups now. You may come to the library’s Children’s Room to sign up or call 895-7058.

Raymond has a Code of Ethics that public servants including employees and volunteers follow in the performance of their specific duties for the Town of Raymond. The citizens of Raymond voted to establish a Code of Ethics in 2005. The code was developed by a group of residents after listening to the interests and concerns expressed by fellow citizens.
The code includes definitions of terms such as conflict of interest and fair dealing and non-discrimination. The purpose of the code includes annual training for public servants regarding ethics, a description of situations that a public servant might encounter, and what can be done if a person believes that there is a concern about how a public servant carries out his/her duties.
The Ethics Committee consists of 5 members who are elected by Raymond residents for a 3year term. The Committee can also appoint 2 alternate members. The committee meets the second Tuesday of each month at 6:30 at Raymond High School. If necessary, additional meetings may be scheduled.

Citizen Science - Vernal Pool Identification
The Town of Raymond is currently engaged in a wetland mapping and evaluation project, including vernal pools.
According to the NH Fish and Game Department,
“A vernal pool is a temporary body of water (wetland) that provides essential breeding habitat for certain amphibians – such as wood frogs, and spotted salamanders – and invertebrates – such as fairy shrimp. These unique wetlands typically cycle annually from flooded to dry. Vernal pools vary in size, shape, and location. Some are as small as several square feet in area; others extend to several acres during maximum flooding. The pools appear year after year in the same spots, except during exceptionally dry years. Pools occur in a variety of sites, including small depressions in the woods, kettle holes, and oxbows on river floodplains. Many occur in isolated depressions in areas far away from rivers and streams, lakes, and wetland areas.”
Vernal pools are often most evident on the landscape at the end of the winter/beginning of spring, at the time of the spring snow-melt, and can be easiest to locate during the springtime when frogs are singing, beginning anytime from around early April.
The Raymond Conservation Commission is soliciting reports of potential vernal pools from the Town’s residents to aid in the wetlands mapping project. If you know of areas where frogs congregate and sing in the springtime, please send us information on the location of these areas, some form of mapping of the location(s), landmarks to navigate by to find the areas, whether you are the landowner of the area, and if so, if you would grant permission for access to evaluate the vernal pool, along with any observations you might have made, such as the size of the waterbody, plants and animals observed, and depth of water. You may send your observations in an email to the Conservation Commission’s wetlands consultant, Charlotte Brodie, at charlottebrodie@dubois-king.com. Regional and global decreases in pollinators have been documented. Pollinators help maintain ecosystems and habitats that animals rely on. They are critical for food production and the reproduction of flowering plants.
